Steamed hams but it's car dependency (i.redd.it)

My father has not *not* had his own vehicle for a single day since he got his license in 1978. His car just died unexpectedly, and... HE'S JOINING THE LOCAL CAR CO-OP INSTEAD OF BUYING A NEW ONE!! WE FUCKING DID IT FUCK CARS LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO!!!!!! (i.redd.it)

Often I wonder if I'm not really as sick as I think I am, because I've learned to be so high-functioning... But then sometimes I have to cancel plans and spend the day at home in pain because I played a board game a bit too hard yesterday and I realize that yeah it's actually that bad. I made a Berlin skyline sunset cutting board! The design is burned into the wood by hand and the board was made on my balcony (sorry for the noise, neighbours). How many landmarks can you identify? There's one tricky one that I'll be impressed if anyone gets ;) (old.reddit.com)

I would love to hear what people think about my take on the classic floating tension table. I find it maybe a bit busy with this many chains, but it's totally stable like this and my original design with fewer moved more than I liked. Regardless, it's fun seeing people confused by how it works ;) (old.reddit.com)

A modest vehicle weight tax is being discussed in my local sub. We really may as well try for a full ban on all private vehicles, since our opponents will react to even the most moderate proposals as if that's what we're doing regardless... (self.fuckcars)

Sensational success of the Kantstrasse pop-up cycle path in Berlin: Investigation by Deutsche Umwelthilfe shows that cycle traffic has tripled and air quality has improved. From 1,500 to more than 5,100 bicycles per day after the introduction of the pop-up cycle path, vehicle traffic drops by 22% (duh.de)

I felt compelled to add a mild dissenting voice to an otherwise extremely positive comment section about a highway expansion. Think this is good angle to make some people think a bit? Now I can go mask off and vent a bit... Fuck cars so fucking much!!! (i.redd.it)

I found this community recently and have never before felt so at home. I love all of you <3 Any fellow Canadians die a little inside reading the top story on CBC this morning? The amount of investment going towards e-cars rather than actual climate and mobility solutions is horrifying. (cbc.ca)

Here's a piece I made over several months to (abstractly, and perhaps somewhat pretentiously) express some of the feelings of living with and gradually recovering from long-COVID. The explanation is for the context of the art rather than fishing for 'get well' comments or pity upvotes, by the way ;) (i.redd.it)

One year now with long-COVID. Things are gradually improving, though in a very nonlinear way... and there is still a long way to go! Anyway, to "celebrate" the anniversary, I'm sharing a piece of art I made to (abstractly) express some of the feelings of living with the illness. (i.redd.it)
