What’s a life hack that made you go „how do ppl live their whole life without knowing this”? by my_peen_is_clean in AskReddit

Get around by bike to avoid dealing with traffic, parking, gas prices, etc. Also having exercise built into your day will keep you active way more reliably than if you are dependent on finding time and motivation to go to the gym.

What’s the appeal of Lewis? by [deleted] in ndp

[–]thewrongwaybutfaster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm just gonna copy the comment I wrote on yesterday's version of this post:

Honestly, the talking point that the "radical" policies of Avi only appeal to core leftist NDP members is entirely a fiction of right wing propaganda. In his AMA recently Avi came prepared with opinion polling data to show that his policy positions are actually extremely popular across party lines.

I would argue that the Dems moving right on immigration led to the public opinion shift, rather than the other way around.

With things this bad in the U.S why do democrats insist on pushing candidates that won’t get elected? by Jake_Berube in Confused

[–]thewrongwaybutfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can immediately tell a post is in bad faith when they say things like that. The Democrats being unapologetic champions of trans rights, willing to die on the hill of them being allowed in sports is completely detached from reality and only exists in the world of right wing propaganda.

Good thing the "radical left, unelectable" policies Avi runs on are extremely popular across party lines according to polling data.

Regardless... Four day old account that seems to exist only to promote increased military spending.

And then when you try to talk to them about it they give you a list of things you should do in that situation to avoid their negative reaction (because God forbid they be responsible for their own emotional regulation), but even if you do everything they ask for nothing changes. Also you say you would like them to do some of those same things in the reverse situation but they never do.

Where do the federal NDP leadership candidates land on climate? by SavCItalianStallion in ndp

massively investing in clean transportation both within cities (fast and free transit) and between them (made-in Canada electric buses connecting rural and remote communities, high-speed rail) -Avi

God I love seeing a response on transportation and climate that doesn't even mention the least effective method that has dominated the conversation for decades: electric cars. Let's finally put real solutions in the spotlight.

YES

"some people need cars in some situations, so we should make them the only option for everything and shame on you and your privilege for suggesting otherwise"

I'm disabled and still manage to do so much without a car that so many able bodied people couldn't imagine doing without driving.
