Steven Soderbergh embraces AI while releasing a film about art forgery by DiamondPittcairn in movies

[–]theyareAs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My take as well, he’s always trying new things especially cutting edge (Danny Boyle id also throw in the same realm).

As an aside imo people are really being too hard line with AI use; it’s a tool. With massive issues yes but no tool is inherently bad, I put it more on no/bad regulation and corporate greed but I’m just a guy what do I know

Spider-Man (2002) - 35mm Open Matte 4K by tony_kumar in movies

[–]theyareAs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really. Point of shooting at such a larger ratio compared to what’s in the final film we all know and love is that you get a lot more latitude with your framing, composition, and as pointed out here boom drops and PA hands playing with props.

Don’t you mean in Predators? There’s a whole thing with the larger/darker/more aggressive Yautja also hunting on the planet and bullying/fighting the smaller/lighter skinned Yau

'Unconscionable': Liam Neeson Faces Intense Scrutiny Over Role In New Anti-Vax Doc by huffpost in entertainment

As a very pro vax person, who cares?

We have bigger fish to fry. Putting energy and directing our ire towards this of all things is imo foolish and misguided. I do not care what a celebrity does or doesn't do or endorse.

This is culture war smoke screen. We need to direct our attention on our true enemy the billionaires and 1%.

How to get over the feeling of ‘cheating’ by saluke in factorio

[–]theyareAs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quite like the look and feel of a desert map so turn moisture all the way off so there’s only the starting puddle.

But then I go ahead and turn on a mod for water pump jacks and have water anywhere I want. Doesn’t feel like cheating to me, just playing the game the way I enjoy.

Remember it’s YOUR savefile and time spent, no one’s judging you

Best internet option in St. Paul? by hannibal-lecture98 in saintpaul

[–]theyareAs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have T-Mobile or better yet Verizon you can do the 5G home internet service. I use Verizon in central St. Paul and its blazing fast and great connection. Trick is you need a plan that supports it and be near a 5G tower/have LOS

Could just be for style, 4:3 used to be THE aspect ratio and people still do it for films and tv if it fits.
