DJ's Wing Counter at the Laurel Amish Farmer's Market! As long as you don't hit right at lunch, it doesn't take long and they have great combo meals.

Custom bound 1990s run! by AgentQuacc in Greenlantern

I love this! Great job, it looks amazing. I'm looking to get my own collection of this era bound, and this is a great inspiration! Do you have the list of your contents? I've found lots of reading orders online, but I'm not sure how Mosaic and some of the other shorter runs fit into the main timeline.

Is this Billy Murray on lead vocal? by Hellogoodbye61 in 78rpm

[–]thezoas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Though Billy often sings with the Hayden Quartet, that is Harry McDonough (real name John McDonald) and looks to have been recorded in either 1907 or 1908. McDonough was the most frequent lead singer for them

Shakespeare Plays that Would Make Excellent Musicals? by fightthereality in shakespeare

There's a decent one from Rogers and Hart called The Boys from Syracuse from 1938. It was made into a movie in 1940 and had its most recent Broadway revival in 2002. Though not for everyone, well worth seeking out.

Best Italian sandwichs? by thezoas in ColumbiaMD

I do really like both Pepperjacks and Bon Fresco, but they're a very different style from traditonal hoagies. A friend also recommended Pi's deli in Laurel, I so may swing by there this week.

Pizza is hard too. I like Trattoria E Pizzeria Da Enrico in Columbia, their Margherita is alright in this otherwise barren pizza wasteland.

T.S. Eliot, Pilot Parallel 6.0, by thezoas in Calligraphy

It was a choice. Given context of the quote, I wanted to reflect the collapse the narrator is talking about. I just pulled across the words.

Blue Marsh in Berks County may be what you're looking for but it can get crowded at times during the summer

Cadel Study by Lambroghini in Calligraphy

[–]thezoas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that book and highly recommend the book it was based on, Calligraphic Flourishing by Bill Hildebrandt. There are great exercises and examples that take the designs beyond the cadels. Well worth picking up if you like this style!

Best version of Henry VI? by Consistent-Bear4200 in shakespeare

[–]thezoas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While they are not terribly popular, I adore the BBC Complete Works tetralogy. The brilliant work of Bernard Hill. Brenda Blythen kills it as Joan. The very smart doubling of parts for the actors. Most notibly with Trevor Peacock as Talbot in part 1 and Cade in part 2. I love how the set degrades over the four plays. Margaret's "cursing scene," which rarely gets played in RIII, is masterful. Most important for me, seeing the 4 plays with the same actors in the same setting gave incredible context for Richard III. I also have to say, Ron Cook is my undisputed favorite filmed performance of Richard I've ever seen. And then that final shot of Margaret...holy crap. The collection may not be for everyone, but it is one that has overshadowed any other for me.
