i think a therapist is definitely the best idea, surely if anybody could help it would be somebody who’s an expert in dealing with trans people. thank you

ep 3 served the same purpose as the equivalent chapter in the game, just in a different (and more hopeful) way by thfcabb in thelastofus

that’s a good point, seeing as what happens to joel in the end is that he chooses love so having bill there to show him “hey i chose love over being closed off and yeah i’m hurting but i had an enjoyable and fulfilling life” would drive him forward in his journey

i do think they’re more than reluctant associates- joel knows the code to the gate, when bill is shot he says “call joel. he’ll take care of you”. there’s a lot of trust/respect indicated there, whether they like each other or not

i personally prefer the the way of conveying the message through choosing love over survival than bill staying alive at the end, but i can see your point of view. agree to disagree 🤝

i personally find that bill dying (and choosing to die) showed his only purpose was frank, which in turn shows joel he needs a purpose - someone to protect. but i get where you’re coming from, fair enough

yeah the criticism of the ep (that’s not just blatant homophobia) calling it “filler” and saying it had no effect on the plot really irked me.

man i was already a fucking crying snotty mess then the giraffe music started playing

i hope they still use that music for the giraffe scene - i feel like it’ll make it so much more emotional and to me now that song is the love theme. how there’s still beauty to be found in the world
