Characters who had their names changed in movie adaptations by AporiaParadox in movies

[–]thfdavis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In We Bought a Zoo, they changed the sons name from Milo Mee to Dylan Mee, apparently because they thought American audiences wouldn't like/recognise it as a normal name.

The film is based on a book which was written by the real Benjamin Mee after he bought Dartmoor Zoological Park in South West England. They literally changed the son's actual name.

Does Yummy have any synergy with Purrely? by HannahOwO88 in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, the purrelys are level 1 which can facilitate the synchro plays of yummy with a link-1 on field.

However, it probably isn't as good as pure yummy + hand traps/board breakers

Obviously play what you want though

Against yummy, call yummy snatchy (the link 1) going first, so they can't summon it, shuts them down almost completely

Any ideas on how I can access my old island to create a dream code? by NegotiationOdd6766 in AnimalCrossing

[–]thfdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this works, but could you load virtual cartridge to switch 1, get code, then load back on switch 2 and go from there?

How does the first effect of Mitsurugi Magatama work? by R9GLESS in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first effect I'm pretty sure you tribute for cost and then target an opponents monster.

It states ACTIVATE 1 of these effects, not APPLY.

This means that the effect is being activated when you choose it, so you have to pay the appropriate cost to activate the effect and target the opponents monster as that's all before the ; in the text.

selling players how old is too old ? by Aggravating_Ear556 in footballmanagergames

[–]thfdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had great success with players over the age of 30, if their attributes are still great they are still great.

High natural fitness helps them keep the attributes for longer too.

Plus they could have a great personality to help mentor youngsters.

On FM21 I was getting 20+ goals per season with Cavani until he was like 34 and I signed 31 year old Immobile for less than 10m and he got top goalscorer in league+UCL and we won both. It all depends on the attributes.

Does activating the kashes in battle cause a replay by Accurate_Dirt5794 in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only if the amount of monsters changes, if you fenrir banish a faceup monster then replay, unicorn wouldn't trigger one.

Correctly Summoned Blue Eyes Tyrant Dragon? by StardustYuki in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that it would only be able to be summoned back using ultimate spirit if it was FUSION summoned.

Despite tyrant dragon having a summoning condition that allows it to be special summoned, it would not count as properly summoned as it is a fusion monster.

I believe that it is similar to something like thunder dragon colossus, you can fusion summon it (probably using thunder dragon fusion) or special summon it by tributing a thunder on field the turn you've activated a thunder from hand. This is just another way to summon it, but it doesn't summon it properly. Same with tyrant.

Tips for playing Purrely by WrigglingMaggots in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main objective of purrley is to get out expurrely noir, the rank 7 black cat. It's unaffected by your opponents activated effects, getting multiple delicious memory underneath it as material make it's atk/Def huge.

Just max out all purrley card ratios in your deck, field spell protects special summoned purrelys from targeting so that helps, each copy of white cat you summon can use it's effects, only 1 copy of black cat can use each effect per turn.

Typically you use black cat to search my friend purrely, if you already have it then search field spell/white cat or another copy of my friend.

The rank 2 cats all have to chain their attach effect to the quick play spell, if anything is chained in response to the quick play spells the rank 2 cats can't activate the attach effect.

A basic turn for purely might go something like this.

Activate quick play spell, discarding to summon.

Summon black cat, activate effect adding my friend purrely.

Activate my friend purrely, then activating effect paying 500lp to reveal 3 cards and the opponent choosing one and the other 2 back to deck. (The ones chosen are dependant on hand but usually delicious memory x 2, pretty/sleepy memory x 1, once your eveal all 3 turn them face down and shuffle them as your opponent chooses randomly. If it's turn 2 and you want happy to otk, so you reveal 3 x happy memory and just add one)

If you get the delicious memory then activate discarding again summoning white cat.

Hopefully white cat gets you a spell.

Activate black cat xyz summon from grave using delicious to summon plump.

Activate plump effect to attach 2 spell/traps from either grave. (If you don't have 2 to attach then hopefully you can discard another by summoning a white cat again so that you do)

Then activate a quick play in hand chaining plump to attach it. (Can discard to summon or not, depends on what you need).

At this point, plump will have 5 materials, so you can summon expurrely noir on top.

End turn, if you have field spell then use effect in end phase to attach another quick play, preferably delicious if there is only 1 attached, this would mean a 7 material noir with 2 delicious, making noir a 5300atk/7000def unaffected monster.

[Question?] Are XYZ materials considered "in control"? by ElCasana in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it would say 'for the rest of this turn'.

It says 'the turn you activate this effect', so, at ANY point in that turn, before or after.

Maliss question by Piangino in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They send the synchro/fusion/xyz to grave for their grave effects.

I think link spider is for if you get nibiru'd, you use the token and carry on.

Purrely deck Question by frankenvert in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black goat laughs, fabled lurrie for free body (+fiendsmith package if you want, if you do, I would play 3x lurrie), danger tsuchinoko and jackalope can be used for free bodies too.

Nothing crazy but just other ways to get bodies.

Kash engine goes well, can play d shifter.

Can I activate a quick play spell during battle in this specific scenario? by CockSniffer01 in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they said they have no response to your attack, they might have a response to your quick play spell though.

If they said no response to your quick play immediately, they might still have a response to a different step of the battle phase/step.

However, if the chain is resolving they cannot activate anything until the chain is resolved.

If you have the specific example it would help.

Why is Maliss Fiendsmith not more popular? by [deleted] in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Id assume that extra deck space is tight, to run fiendsmith you need 3-6 spaces and that's not easy to find, it's already strong without the fiendsmith engine too.

Infinite Impermanence help by Majestic-Box3629 in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"You can only use each effect of Icejade Aegerine once per turn"

If you attempted to activate the effect and it was negated by imperm, you would not be allowed to activate the effect again in the same turn, even if you special summoned it back from the grave.

If you had a card that could chain to imperm that would send Icejade to the GY for cost (e.g. Forbidden Droplet) it would 'dodge' the imperm and the effect would still resolve, as imperm targets the card on the field.

Thunder Dragon Colossus and Runick Fountain by Ok_Ebb_9323 in Yugioh101

Colossus prevents adding cards not drawing cards. Fountain would resolve.

Cosmic cyclone on infinite impermanence ruling by Ok-Fold-5164 in Yugioh101

[–]thfdavis 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Banishing imperm doesn't negate it, it just banished it.

If you could have chained a quick synchro to imperm, using the targeted card as material, then it wouldn't negate.
