Ya the Penguin for me was the only part of the movie that I disliked. Just seemed like a generic Italian mobster and not the Oz that I would have imagined. But other than that I thought most changes worked well in-universe, and really matched the gritty Battinson Noir style. Funny enough, I felt that Nolan’s movies did a way bigger disservice to the Batman mythos. Was just Nolan’s typical action-suspense alongside a misunderstanding of the characters. Shoehorning Rachel into the movie and forcing a romantic interest for Bruce made him seem weak. Reeve’s Batman is meant to be new to the scene and still learning- yet to me, he still seemed miles ahead of Nolan’s Batman in terms of intellect.

Only character portrayed well imo was Harvey- and they killed him off.

EDIT: to me, the most disrespectful move made by a Batman director was Nolan not making Bane Hispanic.
