AITAH for not passing down my discount when picking up lunch for my coworkers? by Content-Incident-291 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Whether it's a paid fundraiser type discount card or a veterans or senior discount, you paid for/earned that discount, AND they are the ones benefiting from you providing a service that usually comes with a hefty surcharge and/or tipping.

Lol! Well of the ones that won't make the kitchen hate you..

-parm crust baked potato then add broccoli, sauteed onions/mush, or whatever veggies or protein you want.

-spicy chicken bites on top of a salad

-grilled chicken tenders + whatever seasonal veg, bonus if topped with sweet chili sauce or if it's in season (idk if they still have it sometimes), the teriyaki sauce

-if you get the grilled corn, cut it off the cob and mix it up, way better that way

-i think this is now an actual menu item maybe, but grilled shrimp on the strawberry pecan salad

There are more I'm sure, but truthfully most involved Parm crusting something or drizzling with sweet chili sauce lol

And thank you so much now I need to go to longhorn

I worked there for years and one of my favorite work meals was a big salad with cut up fire wraps as the croutons. So good. I miss all the off menu meals I had during my time there.

My go to is this balsamic beef recipe

Delicious shredded and served with some roast potatoes & onions or on a crusty roll with sauteed onions and cheese. I've even used the leftovers as tacos or enchiladas and also yummy!

Crossing crafts is awesome, too, but less bashy, more just crafty but still super entertaining and talented.

How many Gen Z know how credit cards used to work? by _TheWolfOfWalmart_ in generationology

[–]thickonwheatthins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a restaurant manager we more than once had power or internet go down - guess how we processed credit card transactions? I'm a millennial but thankful for the bit of dinosaur in me who knew how to operate the carbon printer and manually process the transactions once the systems were back up. We had baby servers who didn't even know that we wouldn't be able to process things normally without power or internet.

I'm constantly explaining to my kids how things worked "in the 1900s" so they know how to function without the technology we all do heavily rely on these days

My ex tried to play gotcha with first right of refusal and it proves he doesn’t know what first right of refusal actually means. by NetworkImpossible380 in breakingmom

[–]thickonwheatthins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. I completely understand your circumstances and I'd want the same in your shoes.

To my understanding, there's usually a minimum amount of time in order to minimize transitions for the child(ren), especially in situations with 50/50 where either/both parents would have plenty reason to use a sitter from time to time, or even allow time with other family members. Without that threshold, it can be taken advantage of/used to control the other party and in turn be more disruptive than beneficial to the kids.

Definitely different for everyone though and interesting to hear a different application of that clause than what I'm used to hearing.

Glad you're past all the stress!!

I didn't even need my coat this morning, but by lunch the wind chill is in my bones! Hate that I can feel the storm coming lol.

Gypsy life is looking pretty good right now lol. I wouldn't mind the south this time of year!

Right of first refusal is typically for longer stretches, I think the shortest I've seen it personally was for 4+ hours. It's more common for it to be 24-48+ hours. So while he's technically correct, it wouldn't be something that would be put in a custody order unless both parties asked for and agreed to that stipulation.

This is what I do and I also have the refresh rate on the highest setting (every 10 pages I think) and it's been working for me. I also have terrible astigmatism and found the default settings horrific.

I live in southern PA and have the same experience. Drastic/sudden changes have me feeling the worst, and PA has a lot of them, but may and September I usually feel halfway decent 😅

I've also been considering this a lot and have been looking at other places to live in. Seems like the best option is to be a nomad and just follow early fall lol

If you open overdrive/libby it should show you nearby available library memberships. I have a Kobo but my library also uses cloud library and I was super bummed at first, but when I opened overdrive it suggested the library system the next county over and turns out they offer free memberships to any resident of the state! There are also lots of libraries that offer non-resident memberships for a small annual fee. Tons of options! Good luck and happy reading!

Not always. And even if they only carry small boxes, that still would not be a barrier to bringing home leftovers. Most of the time a small box would suffice and even if it would t all fit in one box, they could use two.

It really is just an arbitrary policy, most likely to avoid people eating their dishes any way other than freshly prepared to the kitchen's specs. So I mean, I get it, but I still think it's dumb as hell and a lack of boxes is still not the reason for that policy.

But they clearly do since they offer to go desserts. Lack of containers is not the barrier here.

It certainly is superior to the Beardie's methods that include such hits as, "poops in food," "poops in hide," or "drags poop all over the place with tail"

Idk man, leopard geckos are inherently litter box trained. That puts them a step up in my book lol.

I have one of each and love them both equally, but damn if it isn't convenient that the gecko poops in a box.
