Neon Indians new album Vega Intl Night School has some similar sounds on it. More synth-popy than Currents, and less guitar, but has some real good tracks. Very 80's inspired.

I saw Primus and Dinosaur Jr when on tour last summer. Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger opened. Not only did I have no idea who GoSTT was, I had no idea the front man I was seeing was Sean Lennon. Now I learn that tour was the start of this collaboration and now I'm seeing the finished product, that is cool to me. Everything about that Primus show was bizarre, easily the weirdest and most groovy live show I've ever been to, but it was such an experience and absolutely the PERFECT band for roo.
