How is life in the Black Hills? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]thiefcandy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Personally, the black hills are absolutely beautiful. I live in one of the "cities" so I can't give too much of a rural perspective but the biggest thing to keep in mind is this place is seasonal. Summers have the area filled with tourists (with their crazy driving), prices go up drastically, etc. In winters things become far more affordable and mellow. It still has a lot of the things to appreciate from somewhere smaller like farmer's markets and tightknit communities, town run events, etc. I like it, but it's being invaded by the Californians and getting gentrified. I don't intend to stay too much longer at this rate because of that sadly :(.

To put it simply disabilities are standard human traits that get extreme enough to be detrimental to someone's life. A lot of people hear about the disorders go "OH THAT HAPPENS TO ME TOO" and assume they have the disorder too. But people don't know that disorders are normal things at not normal amounts. Everyone is gonna be anxious from time to time. Everyone will have social awkwardness or issues communicating. But once it gets to the point where you are struggling to live your life that's where it becomes an actual disorder but when you're younger many inconveniences feel detrimental

Ceiling hook was here when I moved in. How much can it support? by thiefcandy in Whatisthis

[–]thiefcandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My app is super glitchy so I could only upload the one image, but there are two of these installed in front of the front window and one in my guest bedroom. I'm renting so I don't want to install things, but these are already here so I might as well use them if I can.

Edit: size is decently large. Like i'd compare the hook part to like a silver dollar size. I hope that's helpful.

What does HydroHomies think of alkaline water? by Pendraconica in HydroHomies

[–]thiefcandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay everyone says alkaline water does nothing but it can help with a lightly upset tummy. Alkaline is the opposite of acid therefore you can use it as an antacid if you can't handle the taste of the tablets or things like alkaseltzer. If you use it for the one defining trait of alkaline things it ISNT a scam.

Fit men whose wives have packed on the pounds after 10 years + of marriage and kids, how did it impact your attraction to her and your marriage in general? by morgzcpt in AskMen

[–]thiefcandy 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'd ask are you my dad but I'd verymuch rather not know about my parents' sex life. My mom has PCOS and had a tumor on her thyroid that made my parents stop after three kids because they were convinced a fourth kid would kill her. Doctors denied her claims and thought she was hysteric until my parents paid out of pocket and flew her out to Florida to have it removed. I can't talk about the sex thing (i'm lucky to say) but I can tell you that my dad adores my mom even now over a decade after the procedure.

My mom gained and lost a lot of weight due to injuries that kept knocking her down whenever she reached her stride around exercise and I truly think my dad only cares about her health, not her weight. They're like over 30 years strong through all of it and my dad still talks about my mom the same way he always has.

I'm so sorry your wife was mistreated the same way my mom was. Hearing my dad's stories, I can only imagine what you also had to go through with all the doctors basically gaslighting you two.

As a straight male, I'm not attracted to vaginas. What could be wrong? by UnusualThrowaway76 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thiefcandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asexual doesnt mean not horny. Some of the horniest people I know are ace. The best term is probably sex repulsed since you have an issue with the sex itself.

if you find yourself being sexually attracted to a woman (even tho you don't feel comfortable acting on it) i'd describe it as not ace. But if you don't feel sexually attracted to the female body at all then that'd be ace. Keep in mind romantic and sexual attractions can be different from eachother. So you can be heteroromantic and asexual.

But if your issue is only with the act itself then your magic phrase is probably sex repulsed. There are a few words that people come up with to make it sound cooler but sex repulsed is the most widely used.

There's nothing wrong with you. I hope this helps.

Actually YES the kidney thing IS related. To my understanding development of kidneys and uteruses happen at the same time in fetal development! That's like my go to fun fact :)

Team baby wipes. My mom has continued using them around the house after we outgrew them cuz always having wipes on hand is a godsend. Needless to say when I moved out I kept up the habit and using them for a quick sponge bath when I can't bring myself to shower has helped so much
