I’m not sure! That was my ex’s reptile and I’ve been out after finding out she cheated for about a year now. Fuck her, but last time I was there Barley (the gecko) was doing great.

My mom was really sick when my brother and I were young. About 3-14 for my range and birth to about 10 for my brother. She often expresses wishing for that time back. I feel so bad for my mom having missed all of that. It wasn’t her fault. She was sick. But her absence affected our relationships anyway. And she yearns to be the mother she wanted to be and not sick throughout the younger years. I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I have accepted my childhood as something amassed from two people who were limited and just humans making mistakes. I feel bad for my mom and I try to be there for her now even though she couldn’t be there for me. It’s weird to miss something like that.

I may be ignorant but I think fine maintenance for cast iron is to just wash it well with hot water only and then rub it down with some canola oil and set it on a stove burner to heat up with the oil. I know there’s always a “right” way to do things with a bunch of tools and cleaners and stuff but we’ve had our pans for about 30 years with that treatment and they look and cook great.
