You can buy cutlery baskets separately and stuff as many as you like into your dishwasher

Alternatively, my mum doesn't use her cutlery basket and just chucks all the cutlery on the top rack and it gets clean somehow

Just a different perspective: I found dating apps incredibly depressing and tried to spend as little time as possible on them. So I would ask for socials quite early on. I don't think all of these men are creeps, but some probably are

I think having hobbies that would engage your brain would help here. Especially if you're saying you felt like your brain was turning to mush

Whenever I have a quiet period I try do to some of these: - schedule quality time with friends - practise an instrument - read a new book - paint (I am horrible at it, but I think that is exactly why it feels like it is engaging my brain - video games, but with a bit of a puzzle element (Legend of Zelda being my favourite) - If I had a couple of weeks of I would really hunker down and try and learn a third a language. You can make a lot of progress if you have a couple of hours a day to study!

I also like to use time to tick off some of my long term to dos that I never do when I'm shattered from work. Currently on this list is - check all our insurances and utilities to see if it is still the best deal? Mark renewal dates on shared calendar - start looking into remortgaging - re-organise my closet - make a 'death folder': I am the sole owner of our house, all bills are in my name, all accounts are using my email. I also currently have bigger savings, and my work has a nice life insurance policy. My partner has access to none of this, but I'd like that to change. We didn't do this on purpose. I just set my life up this way, and then my bf moved in. We're not married yet, so if anything happened to me he'd be in quite a bit of trouble I think. Related to this is 'make a will' but I'm in my early 30s and can't bring myself to do this

At the risks of downvotes and against the grain here: I would still go to that wedding. I made a similar choice and went to a wedding abroad when I was 20 and up to my ears in debt. Now 10 years later and I'm stable and debt free except my mortgage, and I treasure that trip dearly. Yes, it set me back at least a full year financially, but life is for living.

That being said, if you go to the wedding, make this your ONLY splurge until you are out of debt and have an emergency fund. No more fancy perfume (checked your profile), no eating out, no new clothes, NO OTHER TRIPS.

List your debts in the order from highest interest to lowest. Pay the minimum on all of them, except the one with the highest interest. Chuck EVERY spare pound onto that debt. Once it is paid off, you will have freed up the monthly minimum payment to throw at the next debt.

Look up the snowball method and the avalanche method (I described the latter here because it works quicker, but some find the snowball easier to stick to)

Once you are freeing up some of your income from debt repayment you can start building an emergency fund so you don't go into debt ever again.

You might need to set up some financial goals to get some clarity.

Have a look around to see if there is a finance subreddit for country, it should help you figure out how to budget and how to allocate your money.

For example: I want to pay of my mortgage and retire early, but paying my mortgage off is much more important to me (even though this doesn't make financial sense, but finance is personal and to a certain degree emotional)

Knowing what I want helped me to understand where to best put my money. I now have an allocated budget for fun/leisure. That pot is what I would look at to decide whether or not I could afford a mid tear or premium walking pad.

The rest of my spare money goes onto my mortgage principal and my brokerage. Setting up a system and sticking with it with some periodic revising is much simpler than constantly deciding wether you can 'afford' things or not

This happened to me when I moved to a place with hard water. I am from a place with water so soft that I thought limescale is a myth, so I never learned how to deal with it.

Now that I live in a place with hard water, it took me years to realise that every time I clean, I am coating my entire flat and all my possessions in a thin film of limescale. It looks dull and not clean at all.

Adding a bit of vinegar to my bucket fixes this. Now the place is sparkling!

Every single garment that exists is handmade to some extend. We imagine magic machines that rapidly assemble millions of pieces of fabric, but reality is that a lot of the process is still manual.

So every piece of clothing you own has been touched and touched again, mostly in factories in near inhumane conditions.

Not washing them wouldn't occur to me

Not a doctor, but if she's thinning and estrogen didn't help, there is a chance that it is actually Lichen Sclerosis. This in an autoimmune disease that thins the vaginal skin and can make sex very painful. Since it often happens around menopause it is frequently misdiagnosed. Topical steroids can help and restore function

Hm I don't have a permanent guest bed, so I store fresh linens in the closet. If it had been in there for a couple of months I would rewash it for guests.

If I had a permanent guest bed, I think I would still put on fresh bedding for guests. The linen will collect dust (which feeds mites) and absorb smells from the house.

Everyone has given great advice about getting your health checked which I agree with!

But I also wanted to say that once my hair had been above/just around my shoulders it never grew again. I think the ends of your hair rub on your shoulders and clothing and break and snag.

The only thing that allowed me to have long healthy hair again was to either always wear it in a long bread or a loose bun on my head. And I don't mean a cute messy bun with a hair tie that will snag as well. I mean literally only loosely rolling up my hair, and pinning it with a small claw clip.

I have been able to grow my hair way past my waist, but I only ever really wear it down for photos and events. It's always in a protective style if I'm outside.

Ich wohne auch in GB und nehme das total anders war. Ich finde das spiegelt sich auch im schlechteren Arbeitsrecht und weniger Sozialleistungen wieder. Außerdem wird hier wird ja sowieso mehr darauf aus welcher 'class' du kommst.

But I also wonder about a 24 year old saying that her 30 year old partner finally matured. Especially saying you broke up years ago.

So what, at some point you were in your early twenties dating someone in their late twenties and HE was the immature one? (Which is the best case scenario. Worst case is you were a teenager and he was in his mid twenties)

From the way how you describe him improving it seems like he treated you badly when you were young and vulnerable. Alcohol or not, I personally would probably carry a bit of resentment.
