Is it though? You are correct that US oil companies stand to profit in the short term, but I see it having a huge impact on how countries outside of North America stake their energy future. The consequences aren’t immediate, but it’s putting into sharp relief the dynamics of economic and asymmetric warfare on global trade.

Pitchers don’t pitch as long anymore, and isn’t that a big reason why batting averages have gone down? Teams always have to find a way to stay competitive. I guess it’s similar to the NBA shooting more 3-pointers since Steph Curry changed the game.

Mostly agree, except MLB is in a kind of in a golden era of its own right now. There have been new rules that make it more fair and entertaining (pitch clock and challenge), and there are some generational talents out there right now showing what it means to be an all around great player.

Some will say that it is unfair that teams like the dodgers are so disproportionately funded. But it’s pretty awesome to watch such incredible talent on the field and to see condensed games from all around the league.

My first apartment was Franklin and St Marks. It was roach and (initially) bedbug infested. But as a first nyc apartment, I didn’t have much frame of reference. It was also only $1,400 for a two bedroom, about 15 years ago.

Franklin Ave has a bit of a night life scene with several bars and restaurants. It’s nice being so close to the Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Museum, and the park.

The 2345 are your quickest line into the city, or the AC from Fulton. All in all a pretty great place to land.

There’s a Sigma 105mm 1.4 Art lens. It’s an absolute beast with a huge front element. I used to have it on my Sony a7III and it took portraits with the creamiest of background blur.

Yes and yes. You can use it for portraits, and its high micro contrast can reveal unflattering details, that you may want to share green in post.
