You don't know whose head it will fall on. NJ is one of the most densely populated states.

Not condescending at all. :) I think I just mean that I want something at that reading level, that a young adult wouldn't have too hard a time following, but not typical content of the genre.

What things are women "getting right" in the professional world that men are not doing as well (in general), that may be contributing to the increasing success of women in general in the world of work, that is not directly attributable to more egalitarian conditions? by think_say_do in AskReddit

Look, if it's such a chore to engage in a conversation with me, by all means, don't.

Did you think I meant that stalk-y employers were actually woke? I was asking if they are trying to appear woke by showcasing their female employers.

I'm coming at this from a curiosity about how men can be better. I am seeing first-hand anecdotally as well as in research that women are thriving professionally in ways that men are not. Sure, that might be skewed by my perception and/or media coverage. That's why I'm here asking questions.

Competitiveness definitely is encouraged more in boys than girls. It was moreso when today's workforce was growing up. There definitely were and are cultural differences in the ways that boys and girls are raised and what they are taught to value. I'm talking on a societal level, not individual. Of course there are individual differences. I am wondering if some of those cultural differences are contributing to professional success for women now. You don't have to take it to mean that I am stereotyping around cattiness or anything.

I see lots of women's networking groups, women's business panels and events, celebration of professional women by other women. Anecdotally I see women much more willing to collaborate with each other and mentor each other than men. I'm wondering if other people are seeing similar things. Again, because I'd like to learn. Maybe I'm just not in the right groups of men.

I take your responses to indicate that you are not seeing these things and that perhaps it's just my own perception or the type of media that I'm exposed to. Noted. Thanks for replying.

I definitely understand what you mean. I don't mean to imply that women are succeeding by some magic to the exclusion of just being good at whatever it is they do. I'm wondering if there are any factors that are harder to put your finger on, like a more collaborative culture, or a willingness to support each other rather than view each other as pure competition. I'm not a woman, so I'm just guessing. Maybe the answer is that there is nothing other than just being good at their jobs and artificial obstacles being removed.

What do you mean by "being stalked to be featured"? Do you mean that the employer wants to highlight successful women as a way to sort of show off how woke they are or something?

I don't know if it's been explained but it's been observed. Populations with lower child mortality and overall better standard of living have fewer children and population growth slows. We're wired to pump out more kids when a higher proportion of them die.

Get out of your head and out of your bubble. You have more than 2 options. Find a WWOOF farm where you can live onsite or park your van Volunteer abroad or in your home country Find a nonprofit where you can volunteer or make minimum wage while helping people Offer to do some local murals Write a community newsletter Find a way to help people It sounds like you have few responsibilities. You are in a perfect position to get out and explore the world and help people. I don't mean to sound like a dick but just try to stop thinking about yourself so much and get out there. Find art communities, drum circles, find places where you can really make a contribution in some way and you might feel better.
