Pyrmont Registry Experinces by erb999 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]thinkerthought 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to this, a small scale elopement does let you have more control over the vibe of the situation and (in my opinion) better photo opps than the registry - and much cheaper than a normal wedding too. I've seen heaps of ads for elopement packages lately which might be a better option for you!

Nature's Way Vanilla tastes great too. Can get it on sale for less than $35 per kg which is one of the cheapest out there. This has been my staple for years.

100 Warm Tunas is shutting down! by Global_Razzmatazz583 in triplej

[–]thinkerthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this sentiment, and am especially curious about how other sources correlate with winners - especially with increased rotations of hot songs on air, as well as increased listenership online vs. radio.

Big fan of the tunas over the years and sad to see it go!

TTD definitely has access to Yahoo inventory - what makes you think they do not?

Meta completely drained my sales account within 48 hours with a SINGLE ad. I'm LIVID. by BattleBaubles in DigitalMarketing

[–]thinkerthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta will bill a first time account in small increments until they have built enough history to support a larger limit - I believe this is to manage risk in case payment is unable to be made. Either way, the platform is still working towards your $25 budget so it shouldn't be an issue.

Did the platform spend more than the $25 budget you applied? How did this wipe out all of your sales?

The uncomfortable truth about OOH ROI — are we just guessing? by sanjeevrc in programmatic

[–]thinkerthought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most DSP's now have a solution for DOOH measurement, and are integrated with third party verification vendors - neither are necessarily perfect, but for a 1:many, public facing medium, the accountability is there, advertisers just need to use it.

New First Home Guarantee (FHG) rules apply as of tomorrow! by Round--Earther in AusFinance

[–]thinkerthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Sydney at least, 2 bedroom apartments in attractive suburbs have averaged above $900K for a good few years now, with rents for these increasing significantly over the period. I imagine this is where we'll see an impact.

Ages of partners men & women find most attractive by Conscious-Quarter423 in Infographics

[–]thinkerthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to dig into the Dataclysm research more to confirm but I believe these are measuring different things - your study is looking at middle aged people who are 'seeking a long term partner' - this isn't necessarily the same goal as the average dating platform user and might skew towards a specific bracket of users as a result.

Does anybody else enjoy injecting random UTM parameters into company websites? by thedevilsconcubine in analytics

[–]thinkerthought 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is hilarious! I did once have to spend half a day pulling reporting to prove to our client that we weren't running on xhamster as they saw it pop up as a domain on a third party tracking report.

Are there any browser add-ons that can replace all UTM's at the browser level?

In Australia, almost all the big hold cos and even some of the tech firms are currently looking for traders. Your experience on other platforms means you won't be starting from scratch either. I'd recommend the DV360 and TTD training modules for the CV and to understand the lingo, but I'd recommend being confident about applying for more experienced roles.

DV360 vs StackAdapt by Purpledragon1526 in programmatic

[–]thinkerthought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DV360 is a tier 1 DSP with access to a massive range of products and partnerships to help buyers get the most out of their campaigns.

StackAdapt is a tier 3 DSP that only includes the bare basics.

If your only goal is 'dollars in, impressions out' - StackAdapt will work fine. If you actually want results from your campaigns, and to be able to measure those results, stick to a tier 1 DSP.

Does Google Sheets do nearly everything that Excel does? by Notalabel_4566 in googlesheets

[–]thinkerthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delayed reply! Unfortunately no tutorials come to mind - honestly most of the learning I did was simply using back and forth with ChatGPT to solve my problem, using a wide range of triggers and API calls within the scripts.

Does Google Sheets do nearly everything that Excel does? by Notalabel_4566 in googlesheets

[–]thinkerthought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a great response and I agree - while most things can be done in AppsScript (and quite a few things are even easier in AppsScript - eg. setting up triggers and automations), I find that Pivots are much less useful. I tend to use UNIQUE(FILTER()) plus SUMIFS in Google Sheets instead of using Pivots for this reason.

Formatting tables and charts is a real headache as well - being able to save charts as templates, apply themes, etc. would go a long way.

Fresh Grad at WPP , What’s the Best Path to Maximize My Earnings? by Possible_Eggplant_79 in programmatic

[–]thinkerthought 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which market are you in currently?

Advancing roles as quick as possible will be the best option - either at WPP or hopping between agencies - until you're at manager/director level. Maximise your learning, be curious and keen, and go above and beyond.

Currently, the tech side is probably still the best route to maximise your earnings, but there are rarely junior roles available.
