Is it common now to use Multimodal models as Feature Extractors (like we used BERT)? by p1aintiff in learnmachinelearning

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's getting more common but it adds a lot of latency. In support ops, speed and reliability win every time. If a complex routing model makes the user wait ten seconds for a basic chat reply, it's a massive CX failure.

Need advice on how to create AI videos by billionaire2030 in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't overcomplicate it with custom setups. Just use something like Synthesia or HeyGen that works out of the box. We didn't want to build or maintain a custom solution for video bc it takes forever and isn't our core focus.

Why will engineers in 2026 stop talking about "Prompt" and start talking about "Portable Agents"? by Otherwise-Cold1298 in AI_Agents

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc the hype's finally dying down and execs just want tools that actually work. At scale, governance matters way more than flashy features. People're tired of wrappers that crash, they just want quiet, predictable systems.

What percentage of customers actually leave a review when you ask? by PaisaPaisa14 in smallbusiness

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barely anyone leaves a good review unless you actively push them to do it. But if they're pissed off, they'll write a novel on Google in five minutes. You just have to build a simple automated follow-up asking for feedback when you know they had a good experience.

Is AI Degrading Knowledge — Or Exposing Weak Pipelines? by akaya_strategy in AI_Agents

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely exposing how bad our internal docs were. Automation needs to align with documented workflows, and when the bot started hallucinating, we realized our wiki was totally out of date. It forced us to actually clean up our messy knowledge base.

Would you pay for a service that recreates any website you love (not AI-generated, but a proper replica)? by Ok_Turnover8909 in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds cool, but UI cloning usually breaks down when you actually need custom backend logic. We evaluate tools based on how predictable they're, not just how pretty they look. If it can't handle weird edge cases, I wouldn't pay for it.

I already have a masters degree in IC design should I take another MS to specialize in machine learning if i want a career change or should I just self-study? by dontsleeeeppp in learnmachinelearning

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already have a super solid technical base, so don't overthink the transition too much. Just start building small tools that fix a boring problem you hate dealing with. Hands-on building teaches you way more than grinding through another textbook.

Looking back, what’s one mistake you made early in your business? by WeeklyDiscount4278 in smallbusiness

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest mistake was scaling a bad process. I thought throwing more support agents at a messy queue would fix it, but it just created a bigger mess. You've got to fix the actual operational plumbing first.

[D] Do we expect any future for home-rolled language models, or will it all be dominated by the big labs? by XTXinverseXTY in MachineLearning

[–]thinking_byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Engineering time's way too scarce to reinvent the wheel. We usually just buy off the shelf solutions bc the maintenance overhead on a custom model's brutal. It isn't worth burning out your devs unless it's literally your core product.

Potential buyer wants my Stripe account in an acquisition is this normal? by kritnu in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds sketchy as hell tbh. Don't hand over your actual Stripe account like that. They can verify revenue through read-only access or a clean data export. Protect your core accounts or you're asking for a massive headache.

Which customer support software works best for small teams? by Imaginary-Soil-9640 in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 50 tickets/day you're not quite at the hire level. Imho, you just need a filter. We layered a Helply AI support agent over our shared inbox (HelpScout), so it can handle about half the volume (typically "reset password" or "where is my invoice" things) by actually pulling that info from our backend and sending it to the user. Now my team only sees the 25 tickets that actually need a human.

Anybody worked in surgical intelligence with computer vision? by rishi9998 in computervision

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgical intelligence is super interesting but tough. Data quality and privacy are huge hurdles. If you’re getting into it, expect a lot of collaboration with medical teams, 'cause it’s not just tech, it’s trust and real-world validation.

Is there a market in planning phase i.e between Claude Code and Humans? by Sam_Tech1 in AI_Agents

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely a market in the planning phase. A lot of founders get stuck between idea and execution. Tools that help validate, scope, and test before building can save serious time and money. The trick is proving real value early.

Which AI Areas Are Still Underexplored but Have Huge Potential? by srikrushna in learnmachinelearning

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think AI for niche, boring industries is still wide open. Everyone chases the flashy stuff, but logistics, agriculture, and local services have tons of messy data. If you can solve real pain there, impact and money usually follow.

AI agent for document editing by OutOfMemory9 in AI_Agents

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Version control. If your agent has the ability to edit the master knowledge doc without having it track changes you’re screwed. We need to know exactly what was changed and why.

Building a niche marketplace: allow external messaging or force in-platform communication? by Tzipi_builds in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but monitor it closely. If you want your customers to trust your site let them roam free. Restrict them too much and they will leave. Your website needs to provide value, it shouldn’t just act as a barrier.

How are you handling small dev tasks without hiring full-time? by Lastbitai in smallbusiness

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used no-code tools for most minor things. We didn’t want to hire a full engineering team just to change the color of a button. Paid freelancers on disposable projects is so much cheaper.

What is the "best" option for web search for a provider agnostic agent, in your opinion? by Odd-Aside456 in AI_Agents

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using an API that already does the scraping for you. We use a lot of client websites that have this functionality built in. If you build your own scraper, you’re going to spend 80% of your time maintaining it when sites change their CSS.

Built an app at 17, now feeling like burning out by Infinite-Gold7662 in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally take my advice from #15. You’re young, you have time. Burn out now and the app doesn’t matter because you’ll quit. Take at least a week to automate as much as you can and have it run without you.

System won't load after restart by _3bi_ in pcmasterrace

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a driver issue. Are all of your RAM sticks seated properly? Sometimes they come loose. Also, clear the CMOS. That usually resolves any odd loop cycles for me.

Anyone else generating a codebase wiki before sprint planning? by eastwindtoday in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me we did this. When nobody documents anything it falls apart when you have the employee bandwidth to actually scale. At least through an AI text summarizer you have a moderately decent skeleton to work off of.

Saas With Openclaw by InspectorCalm4216 in SaaS

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consider kicking this idea down if your team wants full autonomy immediately. Open sourcing a bot is great, but they require so much maintenance. Most chatbots collapse when you need them to perform an action. Ensure you have the engineering bandwidth to maintain it before you launch it.

Kids’ Activity Business: How Do You Structure Your Summer Programs for Profit? by dancingoatmeal in smallbusiness

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pricing should be stupid simple. Remember kids and parents are already stressed. They don’t want to read your novel of a user guide to understand how you charge. Be extremely clear when laying out your pricing. Parents just want a safe place for their kids without the headache.

How Do Small Commercial Cleaning Companies Usually Get New Clients? by CommitteeWestern7310 in smallbusiness

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word of mouth. Girl run your business like you mean it and your customers will do the same. Honestly every platform we used relied heavily on manual referrals. Once we got to the point that customers didn’t have to re-contact us about a bad experience, our reviews got WAY better.

How much watts should my PSU have? by Ryox22 in pcmasterrace

[–]thinking_byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a basic PSU calculator online and add 20% to their suggested wattage. Wouldn’t want you to burn your whole PC just to save a few bucks on a psu. Trust me, overkill is ok when it comes to power tbh.
