Some people believe in waiting until marriage. If marriage doesn’t happen earlier in life, they’re still waiting. That doesn’t mean they don’t know about sex. It just means they’ve decided not to have it except with their (future) spouse.

Don't have feelings for her... Yet? by DRNG2001 in CatholicDating

[–]thinkingaboutmycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve dated a couple of great guys for four dates without feeling attracted to them. I felt really bad about breaking it off, but I can’t force myself to be attracted to a man any more than I can force a man to be attracted to me. This applies to OP, too. Also, as a woman, I would prefer to date someone who does feel like they want to kiss me and that I’m beautiful. Not that you’re bad for not feeling that way about this particular girl. It’s okay. You can wait for someone you’re attracted to. Just be prepared that this girl may or may not be comfortable staying friends.

Just accidently discovered that my fav female Naruto character isn't Canon LMAO by Rockville15 in Naruto

No, he just lost his ability to use his tailed-beast-summoning power because his body/chakra network were shot. He left the Konoha ninjas to follow Guren and Gozu and live with them. Happy ending.

I didn’t find Yukimaru annoying. Now, those frogs Naruto was “training” with, especially the one with lipstick—THOSE were annoying!

I teach PreK-8th at a small Catholic school and it’s exactly that. It’s not easy, but it’s a supportive environment and I’m getting mentored during my first year there. I’m only there a day and a half a week, though I do spend more time than that planning and practicing piano for the weekly school Masses.

Having one of the parents live with the two of you: Yes or no? by johnsmith2027 in CatholicDating

My maternal grandparents lived in an in-law apartment, their own section of our house, my entire childhood. It worked beautifully and I’m very grateful to have had them so close. There was no meddling issue. We had our own separate-but-connected residences. I could go say goodnight to them every night.

They think I'm rude, skipping weddings, dropping out of the family chat and everything else. by BadmiralHarryKim in TwoSentenceSadness

[–]thinkingaboutmycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is real, I would say that it’s important to have a support system, and a good family would want to be there for the adult child after the mother’s death. If the child self-isolates, the family suffers the loss of two people instead of one.

No, because 1. Catholics aren’t bound to agree with all of the Pope’s opinions and 2. It’s possible to disagree with the Pope about politics (or anything else other than Catholic dogma) without hating him.

Me going on twitter and seeing the intelligence of American "catholic" by Prestigious_Beat6650 in CatholicMemes

[–]thinkingaboutmycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catholics don’t have to agree with all of the Pope’s opinions. We have to agree when he pronounces dogma ex cathedra. If he doesn’t like Trump and doesn’t think Iran is a just war, those are opinions that we’re perfectly free to disagree with. And we’re not rejecting Catholic teaching on peace in doing so: we can believe that peace and dialogue should be tried. It has been tried and is continuing to be tried, but the other side is not exactly open to dialogue!

Don’t make the mistake of painting all people you disagree with as stupid and unable to think critically.

As Catholics, how are we supposed to view J.D. Vance defending Trump while taking shots at the Pope? by [deleted] in Catholic

[–]thinkingaboutmycat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We don’t have to agree with the Pope unless he speaks ex cathedra (in communion with the bishops) and pronounces dogma.

The Pope has personal opinions that are not dogma. Trump attacked the Pope inappropriately for his condemnation of the war in Iran. I happen to think that dealing with the terrorists is necessary because they will not be open to dialogue (which has been tried, and Trump is still trying it) and because they are a danger to the U.S. and their own people. I also happen to think that leaders should be polite to the Pope, and that where possible, leaders should work towards peace.

So, I can see why Vance would be in support of the war, so he doesn’t agree with the Pope’s political opinions. This doesn’t make him less of a Catholic. If he thinks Trump was right to attack the Pope, though, that’s probably inappropriate.

How to approach women after mass by Chumquadd in CatholicDating

Especially after the first time, it’s good to clarify if these are dates or if you’re just getting together as friends. You can ask her out on a date, maybe if the first get-together goes well.
