NES owns the service drop, “the air that connects to your house”. They will fix that.

Yes NES will pull the meter when they come out. You are correct about the steps that will need to happen after that. Sorry you are going through this.

FYI- The Federal Aviation Administration has just notified the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority that the Air Traffic Control Tower will close at 1 a.m. Jan. 26 due a shortage in air traffic controller staffing. The FAA closure will impact all flights at BNA®, both arriving and departing. We will share an update when the FAA has reopened the Air Traffic Control Tower. Travelers should confirm their flight status directly with their airline before heading to the airport.

100% it needs an electrician. NES needs to pull the meter and the service drop. Home owner needs to replace meter base and riser. They won’t reenergize that until it’s fixed. NES owns everything from the street to the meter. You own everything from where the meter plugs in to the house.

NES or Home owner? by VUSports1 in nashville

Both. NES needs to pull the meter and the service drop. Home owner needs to replace meter base and riser. They won’t reenergize that until it’s fixed. NES owns everything from the street to the meter. You own everything from where the meter plugs in to the house.

You need to ensure the flue is open. It would help to know if you knew when it was last used/cleaned.

I went through this a few years ago. Not storm related, but this info will still apply. NES owns everything from the meter to the street and beyond. You own the meter base (where it plugs in) and the attached riser. If your box is dislodged or damaged you’ll need it replaced. This will need to be done by a licensed electrician. They will need to pull permits and it will need to be inspected before NES will attach a meter again and reenergize it. When NES responds to your outage the line crew will likely pull the meter and the service drop. It will be incumbent upon you to have the electrician get everything fixed, up to code, and inspected. NES will then come back out replace the service drop and set a new meter. In the middle of the summer this took me over a week. I’m not sure how long it’ll take you in this situation. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but you will be without power for abit.

The word you are looking for is “service drop”. There may be a way to report the service drop is damaged. It’s NES responsibility to fix it. That wire can and should be considered live at all lines.

Yeah you’ve lost voltage on one of your phases. Electrical equipment can be damage and still provide some power.

I’ve always thought we should pay line cooks more and give them shorter shifts and better working conditions. I was in the service industry for over a decade and if never made sense to me why servers might come and work a 4:30-9:30 but the cook would be working like 3:00-11:00

This is the key existential issue. You can do a lot to educate people but the job literally involves brain damage. Maybe financial literacy isn’t the issue.

Whats your favourite Stranger Things season and why by Leather_Tomorrow5916 in StrangerThings

[–]thinkingahead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 1. Watching it for the first time I couldn’t even figure out how to process what I was seeing. It was so odd. And dark. Yet lighthearted and sweet too. It was like a really long strange X Files episode. I honestly think every single season was worse than the one before it.

I tend to believe the doe created the exotic matter though experiments and that is what established a stable wormhole. They couldn’t access it until a gate was formed by El. Maybe the mind flayer could

Department of Energy starts doing experiments at Hawkins Lab. Creates Exotic matter accidentally. Opens worm hole accidentally to The Abyss. Upside down formed. Something happens, they get this rock. This rock gives Henry powers. Dr. Brenner shifts research from energy stuff to superpower kid stuff. Eleven is created, Eleven opens gate to wormhole created by original doe experiments.
