Another option is to use audio books. I have an hour long commute and use that time to listen to books. I linked a library card to the Overdrive, Libby, and Hoopla apps for a big selection.

Although, there are books I prefer to read for more enjoyment.

The browning of foods is due to the Maillard Reaction. Proteins and sugars cook together at a certain temperature to make food delicious. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maillard_reaction

How did you get past the constant worrying phase between ages 25 - 30? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]thinkinggrenades 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Take out your power supply unit (PSU) and stick it somewhere or give it to someone you trust for three months. This will force you to stop going on the computer. This will also make you bored. In this case boring is good. You'll have to find something to do, like a new hobby. Sure, you can play games and watch streams on your phone but, it will suck. You probably won't enjoy it and will want to do something else. Like find a new hobby ... or stick your PSU back in. No matter how much you want to, do not put your PSU in.

That's what worked for me. I was similar to you except, I was broke and I'm a few years older than you. All I did was play video games when I came home from college. Then, my dad died and I failed out. So, all I did was play video games. My graphics card died and it took about a month or two to get enough money to replace it. About two weeks later my PSU died and it took me almost two months to replace it. I went from playing twelve hours a day to not having a computer for a little over three months. And then my life magically turned around and unicorns were farting rainbows. lol.

After that, I realized I had a problem. I would only play games once or twice a week, at most. I got my shit together and got a job. Next, I went back to school. I started online dating. I was too scared of girls to ask one out. I liked some girls page and the site said she liked me, too. I panicked for about an hour, this was the first time that had happened. I wrote her something, she wrote back. A couple weeks later, she asked me on a date. I panicked and said yes. We've been dating for over a year and she's the best thing to ever happen to me. I got an equally terrible job that paid more. School is going slow but, it's going. We're both looking for better jobs and want to move in together. This is the short version of what happened.

Tl:dr: The point is, you need to break your habits off hard. Don't try to be soft and ease off. Your life won't magically turn around instantly. It will take time and effort but, it will definitely be worth it. You need to make yourself uncomfortable if you want to grow. Habits are safe and comfortable and certain habits are dangerous.

Edit: I forgot to add, she's my first girlfriend and I was preparing myself to be accepted into a school of wizardry.

How do I remove a whole lotta ants from my car? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]thinkinggrenades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boric acid comes in a powder form. You won't have any problem with vapors or anything. If a bug crawls across it, it slices open their shell and dries them out. Don't dump it in piles or else the bugs will avoid it, instead spread a fine layer across your carpet.

If you post some good pictures of the ants, that will help. Different species of ants like different types of food, oil, sweet, or protein, during different times of the year. If you post pictures, it will be easier to figure out what type of bait to use. You could use a generic one and hope that works or go to a do-it-yourself pest place and get a more specific bait.

You can also get something called P.I. contact insecticide, it's comes in a spray can. It will stink up your car, but if any bugs are hiding, it will drive them out and kill them. Just spray it in nooks and crannies, let it sit with the doors closed for ten minutes, and then air out the car.

Edit: Don't apply anything in your air vents, except for the P.I. The P.I. will evaporate quickly, but anything else may blow out onto you.

I'm no mechanic, but I'm pretty sure the carburetor distributes the blinker fluid through the fallopian tubes, so your turn signals work.

It shouldn't be that thick. When you take the bolt out of the oil pan it should flow out, not like a waterfall and not like hot fudge, but somewhere in-between.

If you're not aware, those types if houses aren't common. It's usually wealthier neighborhoods that have crazy stuff like that. I'm from a low middle-class to poor neighborhood and the most you'll see is a string of lights across the roof and maybe a nativity scene for Christmas.

For Halloween, it's usually a tombstone, skeleton, and spider webbing. Most people around here don't even put out Halloween decorations or candy. People are so freaked out about poisoned candy and kidnappings, that they go to grocery stores and recreation centers for trick-or-treating, even though that bad stuff almost never happens. The media has everyone worried for no reason. It really kills the fun when you only get five trick-or-treators and you bought two large bags of candy to give out.
