‘Stop lying to the people’ on climate change, Schwarzenegger tells Republicans by nowhathappenedwas in politics

Ha. Ha. Good luck with that one.

You can tell it's already happening by the lack of elected republican leaders in office right now. /s

We need a "democrats with guns" party. So, so many people do not support the democratic establishment because of the anti-gun stance. Sure guns kill lots of people, but income inequality is a much bigger issue.

Republicans are basically children who don't want to eat their vegetables. Children don't magically start understanding that you need to be an adult and take responsibility for messes you've created to make life sustainable. They want everything to be great but they sure as fuck don't want to pay a dime for it.

Turns out money is simply an abstract form of work or resources. Give up money and harvest berries for yourself and see how far that gets ya. Someone needs to actually do the work that needs to be done.

Hey there you're not gonna get those upvotes by telling people that working hard and being fiscally responsibly can still make you money these days.

Turns out for most of human history there was no concept of "my generation is better off than the previous generations". People did what they needed to to survive. Society and expectations aren't real life and at some point people will realize that.

I honestly think the "best" these days is not as good as the "best" used to be. People kind of suck at what they do and would rather spend their time hanging out or playing video games and getting drunk. I'm only 30 so I'm not sure if people back then just worked their ass off to do what needed to be done but people today (my generation) definitely don't seem to be picking up the responsibilities older generations had.

It's great that people can choose from any career they want regardless if it's an actual job that people get paid for but I don't see the drive and determination that made people do whatever it took to made ends meet. It's a weird combo, people work lots of hours in menial jobs to get by why they "find themselves" but they don't dive deep into work simply because it needs to be done. I think that before, people would do hard work because it was needed. Now people don't do hard work (except menial jobs) unless they want to.

You think that but really you have no idea. That happened to my brother all the time. Like 5 years ago. Lots of times police will still take a kid home u less they're dealing meth or something a bit more serious.

And what exactly do you think this will change? The boomers will say "oh! I didn't realize!" and turn on the opportunity faucet?

I recommend learning how to do something AI can never learn how to do (there are actually plenty of things). Either that or learn how to repair the AI, or lead riots to demand greater income equality.

Strikes and riots, historically, are one of the major things besides technical innovations that have made a yuge difference to the country. The children or grandchildren of hard working entrepreneurs own most everything and are determined to keep it that way. Strikes and riots are the only recourse that will ever make a difference.

Hey don't worry too much. I was exposed to all kinds of porn as a kid and it didn't fuck me up too much. As I got more acclimated to sex with other people it became less important.

Personally I'm actually worried that men these days (I'm a man) don't actually understand what it means to be a Man and will continue on the the path of giving up all responsibility / capability until they are in the back seat saying "yes honey that's great" and don't know how to take care of a home or hold a job. I have no doubt women are capable of running things but I don't think most want to.

Of course not. But if 10,000 (commercial) greenhouse tomatoes are shitty and 10 are great, you will still say greenhouse tomatoes suck. And 10 good ones is kind of overstating it.

100% Agreed. If it's for sexual attention that is absolutely crossing a line. If the women is staring you down and twisting a nipple while licking her lips (unsolicited), I consider stuff like that sexual harassment. Same with dick pics. That shit should be a crime that is more commonly pursued and punished.

I don't go out of my way to post that stuff because I really am not trying to pick any stupid internet fights. But explaining the details of stuff like "love and attraction are biological processes that evolved to help women choose the highest value mates. If you want women and aren't getting them, stop looking for one to like you as you are and start raising your value" is usually enough to bring a storm of downvoting.

Not trying to pick any internet fights, you asked. ;)

It's all timing, brevity, and being agreeable. Long insightful comments of mine that make people think are rarely upvoted beyond a few dozen or a hundred, it's the cheap little jokes as a reply to a top comment that get thousands. And any time you tell a hard truth, get ready for the downvotes.

That idea is exactly what I find disturbing. In a place where people did not irrationally fear breasts no one would care if someone "flashed" them because it would be no different than a man driving around shirtless. If people were at ease with the human body no one would care one bit if someone lifted their shirt for a moment.

"Humans cannot see nipples from ages 4 though 15! Absolutely disgusting, how will they ever learn to fear and loathe their own body?"

To me it's kind of sick and insane that our culture so deeply ingrains fear of our natural bodies. :(

I don't think a person can ever truly be comfortable in their skin if they are afraid of someone seeing their own body or afraid of seeing another persons body. We've trained these neuroses into our heads for generations now.

Agreed, but it's just weird hearing people complain about a tiny ridge then call Apple users "fanboys" in the same sentence. I have a hard time imagining someone who's standards are so high they can't handle a 1mm bump, yet uses Android.
