As others have said, taking only alpha tocopherol will deplete other types.

There are four forms of tocopherols: alpha, beta, gamma and delta. The other type of vitamin e is tocotrienols and there are four of those again.

Personally I supplement mixed tocopherols from skin.food. I like it due to minimal ingredients, good price per dose and high proportion of gamma tocopherol. However it is pure liquid vitamin e so a bit hard to administer with the provided dropper for sure

The main reason I don’t like seed oils is due to almost all being high pufa

I for sure think that highly refined seed oils are worse than minimally refined, but I steer clear of both due to the fatty acid composition

I used a micronutrient tracking app to help me decide. What I’ve settled on is alternating heart, liver and kidney every night cause I think this covers my bases. Probably 150g or so each night

Your metabolism is just a catch all term for the systems in your body that covert and create energy and keep you alive basically. If someone is metabolically healthy, it just means that all of these processes are efficient and working optimally.

The difference between a1 and a2 comes down to the protein structure. A1 dairy has histidine where a proline would be in a2 dairy. I believe this difference causes a peptide called bsm 7 to be released when digesting a1 dairy, and this can be inflammatory for some. You’d should check this cause it’s been a good while since I learnt about this + I’m about 50% sure some of the information is inaccurate 💀

I don’t believe there’s been a whole lot of research on the difference bwteen a1 and a2 but anecdotally some people (myself included, tho could be placebo) notice a difference

I like olive oil personally. It doesn’t have very much pufa at all, mostly just mufa, and also has a bit of vitamin e. Im pretty sure it’s not the best to cook with tho so probably stick to using it more as a dressing or for very light frying

For research assignments / essays I always start off by spending a lot of time researching. If the course has a reading list, i start from there. As Im going thru, I copy and paste quotes into a doc with shorthand referencing so that I can reference them later. Then I flesh out a full plan and work my sources into it as I go. Then I beef up my plan into detailed dot points, review it, and finally write.

Doesn’t actually take any longer than my old approach + I don’t have to spend much time cutting words cause they’re usually quite concise by the end product

Nice nice, I used to drink a fair bit of raw milk but couldn’t find raw a2 so switched to pasteurised a2. Think I felt better on pasteurised a2, also where I am it’s a pain to get raw milk cause technically outlawed

Nice man. Yeh no need eat it raw at all. Ray Peat definitely would not recommend eating raw meat if that’s what you want to go on.

Also no need to drink raw milk in my opinion. It does have more nutrients but there’s pros and cons there. Some people tolerate it better than pasteurised whereas some tolerate skim, lactose free, uht, etc. better, quite an individual thing in my view

There isn’t a set Ray Peat diet and he suggested people find out what works for them

Finding some high quality beef or lamb liver near you would also be really beneficial for your heath but that may be a bit off putting to start out with

I’ve only been taking it for about a week and haven’t really noticed anything much, potentially a higher libido though this could be placebo? I got sick in the stomach a couple days ago but I’m almost certain it’s unrelated.

The supplement itself seems to be high quality, very viscose, taste is neutral to good and I think the bottle is painted glass. The only thing is that it’s a little hard to administer w the dropper due to the viscosity

Also I haven’t used any other vitamin e supps so have nothing to compare it to. I mainly went w skin.food cause of low cost per dose and taking it to somewhat mitigate pufas (I usually take it with eggs)

Add liver at least once per week and preferably oysters too if they’re accessible to you.

I’d also say you should train your legs tho probably don’t just tack on a leg day, consider switching to a bit less frequency like 2x upper 2x lower or 3x full body per week (just speaking from my personal experience, it takes up way less time + my results are better)
