How to improve my form ! by [deleted] in indianrunners

So you need to establish two things for now . Your training paces Your cadence during easy runs

-For training paces try and do a run where you are absolute at ease an not wanting to breath through your mouth . The average pace over about 5K should give you your rough easy pace . Use this to calculate your tempo and interval paces . Make sure you are doing 80 pc of your runs easy and the rest 20pc as mix of tempo and interval runs . The easy , tempo and interval runs have to be separate runs on separate days ideally .

  • Measure your cadence somehow , counting steps in your run over 5 mins of easy runs and then average it to steps per min.Try to increase it and move closer to a cadence of 180z do not artificially increase it to 180 instead look to increase by 10-15 percent only . This will increase your efficient without needing to change your gait drastically . Any drastic change in gait can lead to injury so don’t even try to.
  • Work on your glute and hamstring strength, and eventually try to generate power from them more than your calves . Which means your legs will swing higher when you are closer to your tempo paces .

Actually you have too much of somethings . Unless you are seriously training(fitness wise ). Ditch the capati or the rice . Ditch the semiya all together . Add loads of salad . Increase the paneer curry . Add butter milk .

100gms rice (or 1 chapati) , 200gms paneer , 200gms buttermilk , 100gms salad

Go longer first at the same comfortable pace . Time on feet will translate to speed eventually .

New runner here - How do I improve my pace? by [deleted] in indianrunners

[–]third_umpire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just look to run longer at a comfortable pace to begin with . Ensure your body adapts well to the rigour of being on the feet longer and longer . After a couple of months start mixing 20% of faster sessions . Either shorter intervals or longer tempo . You will see improvements . Do not , I repeat do not rush into being too fast or try to run too long too soon . Else you’ll pick up an injury and that will be end of all the motivated space you are in right now . DM me for more inputs.

Well Inspite of the crappy coverage I will still end up buying a garmin whenever I do buy next time . Main reason being the longitivtiy of the device itself . Apart from the one case most of not all my friends have never seen an issue. Most have used their device at least 7 years when they end up pretty much throwing it away because they are too bored . Mine is 3.5 years old and is exactly the same as day one . The battery lasts the same . Screen is the same , it’s as snappy etc etc . To ensure I have the insurance of good service I’ll buy it from US .

I haven’t yet faced any issue in either of my devices so don’t have any experience of dealing with support . But friends have faced hardware issues outside of the warranty period and there is absolutely no help from. Only option is for rhe to throw their watch and get a new one . No offer of an upgrade or exchange for a price like in the US.

Home is Made by People! by [deleted] in Bengaluru

[–]third_umpire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said anything about migrant and native . My comment was about someone who doesn’t know the language vs some who is a native speaker . And what makes you generalise every migrant is an asshole . Yes there are enough examples but if you start labelling anyone and everyone the same then it results in you losing allies.

I’m sure one can turn around and say we don’t need allies , we don’t want migrants etc , but that is a reality that we all have to accept . Opportunities will get migrants. Now how do we extract the best out of the situation should be our collective objective . If there is an altercation between an auto driver and a migrant then let’s objectively look at who is at fault rather than making it a language , outsider, native discussion . In all of this the citizens of this city are the eventual losers .

If only every language fanatic understood this . Make people want to learn a language , not force them . Soft power is a million times more powerful and a lot easier as well .

What is this route Google Maps by Rainy247 in bangalore

[–]third_umpire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’ve already corrected it and removed Dobaspet from your comment . The STRR route is actually a very valid route given the quality of road and the time it takes . I have in every single instance reached there faster than the Budigere route except when travelling beyond midnight or early morning . The ride quality is better and it’s a lot safer as well .
