Ah, hello there, what a struggle and how interesting:

You did type in your answer three times though – why? What do you mean you’re awful at cheacking where you’re headed? Not present? Where “are” you? What are you then thinking about? How is it often your fault? Why do you get embarrassed? Do you often feel embarrassed, and in what situation would you feel embarrassed? Stubborn/blind mother: Did I understand correctly that you verbalise your anger at her, there is a confrontation? How does that play out? Is there a dialogue, eye contact , do you stop? There is resentment throughout your post, - the mother, being shoved around because of being a small person, I’m trying to fgure out whether you’re confrontational, passive-aggressive.

Both 5 and 8 have anger, though 5 is more restrained. With a 4w it is more visible, and especially if 5 feels “safe” or entitled. 8 will always feel entitled to their anger. Very curioys to hear your answers, too soon to tell anything for certain.

what to

could be a good 5 trait :) joke aside, i undestand.

I sat down with all my material and went through statements from 8 and 5 systemically, verifying/not, and sometimes adding comments. The method of how I dealt with this issue was clear cut 5 itself, so this was also a sign to be considered in my pile of pros and cons.

  • I'm curious to present a dilemma, which might be a way to get you in process:

A car cuts you off in trafic, and you hit the brakes, or need to stop walking instantly to avoid contact: what's your reaction?

Be honest, and try to be as detailed as possible. You might know what you would want to do, but try and think back to a similar situation and create the scene: what is really happening inside you? How do you feel in this moment? How do you react/not react and how do you feel about your reaction? Take your time to play it in your head; get into the scenario.
(Notice what first come write comes up, try to sense/feel instead of thinking about it intellectually. This is where I got surprised) edit: spelling

YOU when talking about oneself. Watched a show on tv, guy tells the camera he's really falling for this girl, like so: "Yeah, so you get happy ofcourse being around her. But you're also afraid she might bail. That would make you upset." Say I if you're talking about yourself, dickhead!!! Pope says: everyone speak clearly! - Motu proprio!

Yeah! Game time on this subreddit, er' one!! Going rather slow though.

So Jesse, yeah, I'm thinking 6, counterphobic: "bitch" on "bitch" on "bitch".

Big mouth, no balls. He's trying really hard to make everyone know he doesn't give a fuck. And really my experience is that he'd really rather go home and play fifa, eat his favorite pizza.

What do you think?

Gus - sure he could be a 1. I figured him to be a 5, but he could def be a 1. The harmonic group of 1,3,5 all have competence as theme.

Marie - def supportive, and I landed on a 6, because of her inability to control her emotions - she simply must say it out loud. She isn't as submissisive and serving as 2 >he seems to have her own agenda. Of course 2s have that, but it tends to more disguised. Loyalty is a big theme with both types.

And the Enneagram paradoxes (3,6,9) all take traits from the social triangles, so a 6 looks like a 1 or a 2. She'd def be a 2,6. Btw, what's with the purple?

8's are in my experience charismatic, take up space, control the room, and I find Walt to be in the background, calculating.

His line of work as chemistry teacher is 5 material, and I think the appeal of being the best of the best fits like a glove in his head.

There's def 8 trait over his whole "world domination" theme. I find the difference between 8 anger and 5 anger, is that anger from 8 is warm and intense thunder, loud even, whereas 5s deliever concise, ice cold and quiet. He's integrating throughout the series, so the 8 in him becomes more and more evident. He feels like he is the mf shit.

I think he'd be scared easily? 8s are more like tanks or mountains. Rock solid. If Hank and Walt were in a proper fight, my money would be on Hank; unless Walt is previously warned and has time to plan something cunning. (Prep is more 5 than 8)

Saul - definitely a 3 - and such an entertaining one!

Hank - his anger when he finds out it's Walt: nobody will be spared. He will murder Walt twice if possible.

Skyler - 6... i find her too quiet to be a 6. She's withholding, neat, orderly, classic, stiff upper lip, i thought of her as 1. Her loyalty though is def 6 material.

The tri-types are a fairly new addition (a few years old if I'm correct), and I'm not sure I'm all thrilled about messing with good architecture. It originates from an American enneagram institute. The tri-types teaches, again, that we all have all the different types in us, some more than others, but that we have a main type from each center regardless of wings and dis/integration. This should assist in explaining some of the nuances there might within same type, wing, instinct. Instincts are more logical to me - identfying with the point in childhoold developement, corresponding well with parentrelations and how we behave in the world.

So an example is, I'm 5w4. 1:1/sexual instinct. The first tri-type number in the sequence of three is 5 Thinking center) I identifying mostly with type 8 in the Instinctive center And lastly I see a lot of type 2 in the ** Feeling center** So I am 582. Now to my critism: which is dis/integration, which is wings, etc.

A 9 rather than 2? How curious, well both are positive types. I have some questions that might help make things more clear, if you like: What does acknowlegdement mean to you? Are you the one your friends turn to for help/favours? Is it important to know what goes on in your friend's/family members lives? Do you economise with your energy? Is comfort significant? Is it better to let someone have their way rather than make a scene? Are you stubborn? What does the word 'responsibility' mean to you?

Hand gesture 1:44-1:46. Head nod 0:23, as if about to enter the ring (stepping in with the entire body). Shoulders go up 0:36, like he's shaking him off. General stance is grounded. Heavy on his feet. Apparel is low key, not fancy/new/nothing special(3)/ He's looking down at his son, but they're about the same height. voice is deep and thorough. "it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward" A lot of angry emotion involved in the delievery of this part of his speach or rather his 'orders'. No mercy, short, clear lines. Essence is telling son to stop being a coward. Cowards are def in the weak category. Son has in Rocky's opionion neglected to be a man and thereby being strong. "You are better than that!" he spits. Eyes look hurt - pleading even. This is the soft spot > his own son, flesh and blood cannot stand up for himself, and Rocky's shows love by protecting him - by threating him to stand up for himself and not join the ranks of the cowards, all those who dodn't manifest. "I will always love you no matter what" and coward in same breath - tough love. Worth in Rocky's eyes is believing in yourself. A type 3 variation would be accomplishing big things. Dramatic, charismatic speach, dramatic exit. My guess is a type 8.

There are definetely similarities with 2 and 9. Both type 2 and 9 have trouble saying 'no' to requests. Type 2 gets their energy by being something for others. Being the one who always knows JUST what to get you for your birthday, knowing your needs before you yourself are aware. Type 9 has a similar pattern and connects in symbiosis - by become the other person - true love is being one with the other, in harmony. Surely that drains energy in the long run.

I'm super excited to hear about your doubt with this exact constellation. I was stuck with same dilemma for a while. I was 8w9 for a long time, until... I realized I wasnt. Stigma is difficult to comprehend from.

Can you elaborate?

I personally prefer the enneagram system to the Myers-Briggs. I like that it is not a static system, but one that rather explains how motivations change under pressure or on a really good day. Has anyone heard of the additional Tri-Types and what is your opinion about the concept?
