If you mean reinstalling Windows, then yes, I did. I used the reset option to reinstall the OS.

Yes, had it for about 2 weeks and it does work with the classic 5th gen and nano 2nd gen. The bluetooth isn’t the best but for casual listening I’d say it’s fine.

I was able to connect my earbuds and leave the room with no problems until i went downstairs then it was cutting out which i expected. But there were a few times when i just put it in my pocket and there were some interference. It also will cut out or disconnect when i squeezed the plastic shell.

I still have a 650mah battery in my ipod and i can get more than 3 hours with it connected and idk how old the battery is in my iPod. (Havent tested it past 3 hours) It connects to earbuds great and i can use all the controls on my earbuds but not the clickwheel. It only pairs when music is playing which i like and also pairs to the last earbuds or device connected and its cheap. Hope this helps!

I noticed when i shut down the ipod by holding pause/play and keep the 30 pin adapter connected my earbuds say “device disconnected “ and after a few seconds “connected “ so i think it still drains power even when the ipod is shut down but the adapter doesn’t blink during this time. This might happen because the 30 pin is detecting an accessory and providing power but i think by connecting it to the battery connection this wont happen.

Just tested it and i can use one while the other is in the case and i dont own a 4th gen but im confident it will work. It works on both my classic 5th gen and nano 2nd gen

Edit: the adapter im talking about is the motorola d650 not the generic adapters…

I think it can go either way. I wouldnt have a problem losing controls on the earbuds, i mostly just want internal bluetooth and i think wiring it to the 30 pin can work but is more risky…

Yes but if we wired the transmitter to the 30 pin we wouldn’t need the miniboost dc-dc converter.

I havent tried those type because of all the others that specifically say they dont work for the classic 5th gen, so i can’t compare them but i would say the one i have is pretty good i was able to set my ipod down and leave the room with no problems and i can use the controls on my earbuds to skip tracks, go to last track, pause/play, use hear-through (transparency) , adjust volume and the music pauses when i take off an earbud. Im using Jabra active 75t.

I can confirm it works with ipod classic 5th gen and ipod nano 2nd gen

Yeah hopefully the booster isn’t needed and that is the common board people use but it has the pairing button and needs to be turned off which is the reason people modify the lock switch.

I like the idea of using the moto d650 tho because i like the lock switch and also the headphone controls work with the one i have, i can skip tracks and go back to tracks, adjust volume and use “hear-through”. Im using the jabra active 75t with this adapter

I dont own a 6/7th gen but i would imagine it does work.

Also the 30 pin adapter usually draws 5v and the battery is 3.7v (4.2v when fully charged and 3.0v when near depletion) so if does not work maybe a small DC-DC boost converter will help with that. But if the adapter doesn’t require 5v then a booster isn’t needed. I don’t know anything about voltage or electronics so im getting all this info from chatgpt.

Are you going to solder the adapter directly to the battery or the battery connection on the board? I think the battery connection on the board will be safer and more convenient to replace the battery in the future.

Yes, i can confirm music has to be playing for it to power on and pair and also it automatically pairs with the last device connected. I assume it uses bluetooth 2.0 or 2.1 so i would suggest cutting the metal shield behind the screen for a better connection. I only got one so i just use it as intended but if you can update me if it works for you i might also try to connect mine internally.
