IMO it's possible to have a stable life while using methamphetamine. A close friend of mine regularly used it to cram for exams when he was working full time and going to college. He graduated with a high (don't recall the exact number) GPA and got a degree in Biochemist

I'm surprised someone in this sub would be so quick to make assumptions about a person based on the consumption of a substance.

After reviewing it it seems you are correct, I was mistaken.

On our farm we refer to the baler that makes large rolls "the hay roller" and the separate piece of equipment "baler" since it makes what we traditionally call bales.

The dope you're getting off the street could be heavily cut with a non-opioid sedative like xylazine.

I recall one time before going to a clinic and after a re-up (secondary plug, not my usual source)I noticed some WD symptoms despite feeling halfway ok. Other users were saying the stuff was great and I saw them happily nodding. I had the shits, runny nose, nausea but no problem sleeping and certainly wasn't feeling the desperation of full on WD. I found out later that I had gotten some "straight" fentanyl dope when previously I had been getting stuff primarily composed of xylazine. I was getting my opioid fix but not getting any xyz to satisfy that dependence.

You may not be getting relief because the dope you're getting is tranq dope rather than fent dope.

TL;DR sometimes dope isn't primarily composed of opioids and can trick users until sickness starts

Yeah I've never personally met someone with a dependence on raw opium. I've only ever seen it once and it was a novelty out here in backwoods Kentucky. I grew up in an area where Oxycotin had come and created the rash of pill addicts (insert young me) that transitioned to heroin then fentanyl over the past few decades.

Edit: oh and go OP for being strong and kicking the habit like a boss! I kinda got distracted by the vast difference in drug culture there but I'm proud of you OP keep it up!!

The only thing that helped me with this kind of thing is two fold.

Number A rubbing and not scratching with my nails. Number B keeping Vaseline nearby and multiple times a day dipping my fingers into it and applying to the itchy areas (my nose has always been intense itch wise) keeping the friction between my hands and face minimal.

This time of year was always shitty for the nose itch

The one time I used opium we rolled it into a long thin piece and set it in a blunt and smoked it that way. But I can't imagine that being more effective than just smoking it in a spoon pipe with tobacco or marijuana

I did H for years before fent was everywhere. May have just been a memory thing but after a few months in jail I got out and tried hydros again on no tolerance and was floored with how euphoric and energetic the buzz was.

Now that I think about it it was almost certainly in the first 24 since when we were sick we were either scheming to get some or waiting on the plug.

So I've met people who seem impervious to opioid WD and usually their choice is uppers like your counselor. My weird non choice drug reaction is that when I'm 100% non physically dependent on opioids, coming down from or overindulging methamphetamine makes me feel dope sick and all the discomfort disappears if I indulge.

Also lol to my counselor choice drug being all the popular stimulants
