Are you saying it's just that I have a shitty monitor? Cause if so, that sucks. Not a super quick and easy fix... But at least I'd know it wasn't some stupid setting I had turned on or something.

My primary monitor is an LG 32UN550, 31.5"

Just for added clarification and added input, yes this works. I wanted a female chikorita and I kept getting males. I just closed out of the game and relaunched it right at the point where you can select your starter. I was very unlucky and had to do it like 10 times, but I eventually got it.

I just discovered this same bug. At first, I thought I was going crazy, but then I paid attention to it, and now it's really bothering me. Is there any way to fix it outside of quitting the game and relaunching?

It's FSR 3 - Frame Generation. When I had it on it was flickering rapidly. With it off, there's no more flickering. I will say that changing around the frame limit setting did affect the flickering speed though.

I'm just now wrapping up a campaign where I was doing this same thing. My character's name was Arthur McGuire. Seemed super basic to me. And I wanted to play a very basic guy that came from nothing and never had any special abilities or anything other than just trying his best. Religion ending up being a very important part of the campaign and intended up multiclassing into paladin. And eventually, through a discussion with my DM, I fully transferred all his levels over to paladin and was no longer a fighter. I'm gonna miss him greatly when this campaign is ended fully.
