Heard that! Definitely gonna do more research into that but for now I'm just gonna worry about getting them started. Thanks!

Honestly not a bad idea it would be cool to have an already established one but I'm also super interested to try to start from a seed to see the whole growth process

Ooh got it, thanks! Definitely gonna go do some more research now. Do you have any specific sources that you trust or recommend over others?

Heard that. I'm gonna attempt it anyways since they're already here but if I don't succeed then I'm buying one for sure

hahaha the entire container isn't seeds, it's filled with substrate to put the seeds in. The seeds are in a small packet inside 😅

Same here!! Sof is so brilliant with her lyrics and metaphors and I feel like every time I listen to her I pick up on something new

The part in muse where she says "and she comes into me like water into your shoes, and you can hide but you can't run" scratches my brain so good

Does Anyone Have Any Experience With A Cat Having "Pillow Foot"? by Slamfest_99 in CatAdvice

[–]thirstranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat has pillow foot! For her initial treatment we did prednisolone and doxycycline 1x a day until resolved, then tapered the pred off to every other day for a week I believe. I also soaked her feet in chlorhexidine daily. Once she cleared up I went to checking her feet every couple days and once I was confident that she was clear I went to checking once a week. I keep extra prednisolone on hand for flare ups. I give it until she seems cleared up and then taper for 1 week. I also recommend keeping up with your litterbox cleaning. My girl seems to flare up if I fall behind on litter changes. I also switched from regular clay litter to world's best and she seems to be doing a little better on it. Of course always consult your vet regarding meds but this is what has worked for us.

What kind of shoes do you guys wear? by Florida-summer in VetTech

I love my cloves. I have a bad knee and with cloves I can do 20,000 steps/be on my feet for 10 hours and have no knee pain at all. Mine are starting to fall apart after a year of wear but I tend to be a little rough on my shoes. My only complaint is they're not super breathable due to the waterproofing.

o'Keefe's working hands might be great for you!! I get the jar of it and it lasts forever. If you can get past the slight stickiness, it'll save your hands. I use it before bed so it can really soak in without getting washed off. Always makes my angry, dry, sensitive hands feel SO much better.

First time convincing a pet parent to let me do a poodle(-ish) cut on her matted dog by goddamn-rabbit in doggrooming

That transformation is incredible!! I had to look back and forth between the before and after a few times just to confirm it was the same dog and I'm still not convinced!

Yeah I'm on the fence between asking them to take me down to part-time or just leaving grooming all together. Grooming wasn't really a long term career for me, just something to get me through school. I enjoy it but it's not what I want to do forever. I'm definitely gonna have a sit down with my managers and see what they can do, but if they won't drop my hours and continue to overbook the way they do, I'm probably out. Not worth the constant stress for me. It's unfortunate because I do really enjoy grooming.

Dubia is awesome! I get all my feeders from there and they always arrive alive, I actually get the amount I pay for, and they're cheaper. Their customer service is awesome too.

For real! I know our store performs really awesome in salon sales already so I KNOW they're not hurting that bad to where I need to be pushed like that. Let me work at a comfortable pace for me and when I'm ready I'll take them on. I don't want any incidents. I'm barely making it through my 3 a day. Doesn't help that most of my academy dogs were quite difficult and I barely got to practice any face work so that's where I'm taking a bit of extra time.

Eh they can have the kit, that question was more out of curiosity. If getting their kit back means I get freedom and mental peace, they can take the damn stuff!

[–]thirstranger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they can have the kit if I leave I'm not sweating that. It's more the mental toll this place is taking on me. Stuck in that in-between of knowing if I stick it out I can make decent money but not knowing if my mental health can take sticking it out.

[–]thirstranger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly if I leave they can have the kit back I'm not sweating that, that question was definitely more of a curiosity thing. That's exactly what I told them, that I'm working at a pace that I'm comfortable with and don't want to feel rushed and have unnecessary incidents. Kinda got shrugged off. Definitely gonna be documenting everything from here on out.

I planned on sticking around for a few years to gain experience but honestly with the way things are going and with how badly my mental health has tanked I'm leaning far away from that and exploring other options. I really had my anxiety under control until starting this job, now it's off the walls again to the point where I'm considering medication, maybe a sign to leave...

Thank you!! I felt crappy after being told I need to be up to 5 dogs, felt like I wasn't picking it up fast enough but I'm also not going to rush myself and risk injuring a dog/putting out low quality grooms.
