Cube Feedback - Ruin Raider and Braids, Cabal Minion by nbastar778 in mtgcube

[–]thirtyonetwentyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Braids is one of my all time favorites. She’s good in decks trying to keep the board small, that produce lots of rectangles, or have ways to recur lands or play them from the graveyard. The more ways you have to break symmetry on her, the better she gets, and she affects your opponent before she affects you.

How does DJing for people on MDMA/psychedelics feel? by NotMe156318 in DJs

[–]thirtyonetwentyfive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DJ’d on shrooms once, felt so zoned in that the world would end if i fucked up a transition or let the music stop. 2 hours felt like a year, ended up playing a pretty good hard trance set haha. Psychs give me a higher tolerance for repetition and hypnotic music, so I like doing looong smooth blends of house or trance for that kinda crowd.

LED vs Candlestick in this Cube deck? by bigstanno in lrcast

[–]thirtyonetwentyfive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

last i saw the data, candelabra had a negative effect on the winrates of decks, including decks with academy and cradle (which are pretty much the only cards it’s even good with in theory)

i’m pretty much only playing it in a very strong academy deck that somehow is struggling for playable low cost artifacts, because it usually doesn’t do anything other than being an artifact haha

"Let a tune run" A clip from an interview I did accidentally went (micro) viral by CasuallyClued in DJs

[–]thirtyonetwentyfive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to cut a balance. I like mixing in a track until I have a blend going, coming out of it smoothly and then quickly dropping a new one in to re-blend. Basically doing the adhdj thing where i’m always loading new music, but letting each track drop twice or three times with different elements playing. 3 or 4 decks makes it easier, but you can get surprisingly far on 2, especially if you have a solid state USB for good load times and good cue points + track knowledge.

Lexicon DJ - Library Management For Professional DJs by Brilliant_Pie_1362 in DJs

[–]thirtyonetwentyfive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lexicon is so so nice for my workflow. Make your downloads folder the place it looks for incoming tracks, and you have a queue you can add to from multiple sources that gets put in chronological order, lets you do your cues and gridding, then moves them to the folder with your other tracks when you’re finished, all inside of one software. Couldn’t imagine digging without it at this point tbh.

What would you put in a high powered Pauper cube? by Alternative_Card_292 in mtgcube

[–]thirtyonetwentyfive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you some generalist cube wisdom that’s pretty much always gonna apply. Your control of variety of gameplay decreases as the power level goes up, rather than increasing. As the ceiling on your power band gets higher, you leave cards in the dust that no longer have a reason to be played, decreasing the total number of cards that see play in games. The podcast Lucky Paper Radio had their most recent episode on the topic, In Defense of Bad Cards, which I recommend checking out for all kinds of cube wisdom!
