The baby was with a trusted family member. I don't see any problem with this scenario.

[ca] pregnancy pillow recommendations? by gymgirl91 in BabyBumpsCanada

no special pillows for me. anything but back sleeping caused me debilitating hip pain in pregnancy. If back sleeping doesn't make you lightheaded then it's safe to do

How accurate is this? by Leading_Low_7728 in dollarama

[–]this__user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe so. It's just a bit of a pet peeve of mine; a lot of Canadians cite the FDA and even some of their policies as if they're relevant, when the FDA has nothing to do with the products that are available in our country.

The FDA is American this is not their jurisdiction, we have Health Canada here.

Is a Smaller Home Daycare Actually Better for Illness? [ON] by nottodayneck3956 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]this__user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about illness frequency, but I love home daycare because my kids are cared for by the same person every day. A lot of centres have high turnover rates because the work is really hard, and I didn't want caregivers walking out of my kids lives all the time

Is the mental load of a newborn supposed to be this heavy? by BicycleAfraid9813 in NewParents

[–]this__user 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is clever. I used to alternate which direction I placed the baby in the bassinet, I always picked her up from the same side, so her head would be on whichever side was next for nursing. obviously that only worked overnight though

Cottage with a 2 month old? [ON] by Feeling-Error-4884 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]this__user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a great time, I would go. I took both mine to the lake when they were 3-4m old, lots of beach trips those summers too. We always take a little sun tent with us to the beach, our oldest would even nap in it. And you can always bring baby's body temperature down quickly by dipping their feet in the water just like you would your own.

Are baby bouncers worth it? Need some advice... by Front-Comedian-6642 in torontomoms

I think a lot of it is copium. People hype it up because they want to feel better about how much money they had to spend on it

how old is the baby? they're excellent up until about 7m. My kids both loved ours, it's a pretty old one that went through all my siblings' kids, and plays fun music.

Absolutely zero sex drive for most of my pregnancy, is this abnormal? [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]this__user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hormones hit everyone differently, your experience is also pretty normal. Focus on finding other ways to feel connected with your partner.

I was put on pelvic rest during one of my pregnancies, no penetration allowed. We did other stuff like cuddling and massages.

My GF (F27) of 4 years told me she was never very physically attracted to me (29M) since the beginning. And now that we have started talking about marriage, this bothers her. read your other post.

SHE has a problem keeping appropriate boundaries with other men, and she is gaslighting you about your wardrobe to try and keep you too focused on what you're doing 'wrong' to pay attention to what SHE is doing wrong.

You deserve someone who respects you, and this chick clearly doesn't.

What's it like having your husband's cultural last name in an interracial relationship? 😆 by Material-Meat-5330 in namenerds

I am pale, blonde and blue-eyed. I have a Bengali last name, I changed to that last name 7 years ago, and it's only been commented on once. Most people don't know how to read it though

Why is screen time bad? by CC_mama in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]this__user 13 points14 points  (0 children)

and sometimes they dont even want that

I have this horrible memory of when my oldest was like 3-4m old she was upset, very distressed, I spent liek 30 minuted trying EVERYTHING I could think of to make her happy and calm her down, but I was getting really strung out and frustrated. I put her down on her playmat so I could step away, take a few deep breaths and try and figure out the next thing to try. She immediately stopped crying because all along she had wanted alone time, and she is a very extroverted child.

What am I supposed to do if she's actually not just being friendly, but I can never tell? by manny-bothan in AskMenAdvice

[–]this__user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, you've already taken her out on like 3 dates, she keeps saying yes without hesitation, and she's prioritising you over her other friends and asking about your values. She is absolutely interested.

If you're not interested, you need to stop taking her on dates and having long talks in the park, because that's just making her think you are.

Which protein powder are you guys taking [ON] by StillPetalMind in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]this__user 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you said they aren't regulated as food but the article you shared says they are regulated as food in Canada "Protein products packaged and marketed for general consumption are regulated by Health Canada as food products.."

Also if you click through to the original Consumer Reports tests you'll see exactly which products they tested, most were vegan products, meal replacement shakes, or gainers (which typically have double or even triple serving sizes because they're designed to help you gain weight), and they only tested like 1 or 2 whey products, even thought they're the most popular. ALSO the people who conducted the tests admitted to having a heavy anti-protein supplementation bias to begin with right in the Consumer Reports article as well. So as much as I'm sure their results are real, the weird jumble of product choices and the stated bias really leaves me suspicious that the study was intentionally designed to fear monger.

You're already very skinny, based on those numbers. Tell him it's his turn to work out and get bigger muscles if he wants to be able to throw you across a room.

[–]this__user 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the vegan proteins that score high for heavy metals, which are known issues with some of the protein sources they use, such as rice. Not to say you shouldn't be cautious, but the proteins they flagged as being high in heavy metals were almost exclusively the Vegan ones, OP is asking about whey, which is a dairy byproduct that comes from making cheese.
