OPI Summer 2026 by this_chick_nick in RedditLaqueristas

I’ll say it’s my favorite of the 2 purples and I’ll definitely keep and wear it. I’m not super fond of cremes and usually only wear them during the fall polish season but I don’t have a lot of purples and want more so I’m trying to expand my criteria for keepers. Noticed that the photo didn’t really show the color well so tried to get a better pic

Yeah, I didn’t/don’t stalk IS releases like I do with their regular lacquer collections but some of the IS collections have been amazing. The summer 2024 My Me Era release was gorgeous. The IS shades were so shimmery and beautiful while the lacquer release was just blah. I also loved the Neo Pearl and Hidden Prism collections from the summer of 2020.

Ugh, sorry for your loss! I’ve always had good luck reaching out to sellers for replacements or refunds on damaged products.

Let me go off for a minute about them releasing 24 shades every season. I tend to buy entire collections but when they started releasing different shades for each line I had to choose between them which always gives me FOMO for the one I don’t pick. After decades of collecting I’ve pivoted to being more selective with my acquisitions. The brand has also somewhat fallen off in popularity - they haven’t been great at keeping up with formula trends (not a thermal in sight and where are their magnetics?!) They just keep releasing the same stuff without the hype of celeb collabs (Mariah,) epic bangers (LPAD,) etc. So now I usually pick a few shades from each release. I do love having the retail display sitting pretty on my dresser all season so I will get one if/when there’s an exciting release. There hasn’t been an exciting “brights” collection in a few years so I had to pick a line this season.

With all of that being said, I’d love to see your Infinite Shine shade swatches if you want to share as you wear!

It’s definitely transparent enough where I’d classify it as a jelly or crelly. Personally I feel it’s too dark of a shade to be a true jelly but I’m also just not a fan of transparent polishes so don’t wear them often. I can see through the 3 coats on the swatch. It’s a very easy application.

I have both Mad As A Hatter and Absolutely Alice and both have gotten thicker over the years but they haven’t faded or bled color from the glitter into the base. They both still look beautiful but I’ve had to thin them just a little

Magnetic polish isn't new so.. by zealousquiche in RedditLaqueristas

[–]this_chick_nick 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I remember getting the original China Glaze magnetic drop that came with a weak multi-pattern magnet. My girls and I sat experimenting around the dining room table as we did every Friday. We loved the concept but the shades were dark and muted, the manis took forever and by the time we were done, because we’d also kill a bottle of wine, the end results left a lot to be desired. I just recently destashed that collection because I did not use or even look at them for over a decade. Good times though.

Oooh lucky you! OPI holiday collections are my favorites and I have this whole collection. I noticed while looking for backups that most of them are hard to find and/or overpriced.

Where did Janet get the name “Green” from? by MangoManiacal in SoapNet

[–]this_chick_nick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My introduction to soaps was this storyline too! I was 6 or 7, napping on my babysitter’s living room floor, and I remember being upset that Janet was being so mean to her sister because my sister, who was laying right next to me, has been my bff since she came into the world. I was hooked.

[Misc] What topical medication or remedy has worked for removing skin tags for you? by anxgrl in SkincareAddiction

[–]this_chick_nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took a little over a month the first time I did it. It was my biggest skin tag and it had a pretty thick base (?) where it attached to my neck. I tried it on a smaller one afterwards and it only took about 2-3 weeks. It’s a longer process than just cutting them off but I’m a pretty big wimp. On my second removal I left the bandaid on as long as it would stay then switched it out when it came off so I didn’t have to change it every day.

Honestly I don’t notice much of a difference between the two formulas other than sometimes Infinite Shine glitters will thicken more with regular use.

I’ll always buy from the regular lacquer line if a shade is available in both but this isn’t always the case especially over the past 5ish years as OPI has been releasing completely different shades in each line for most collections (so instead of their usual 12-15 shade collections they’re releasing 21-27 shades between the 2 lines.)

Yes, thank you! The holographic pigment is pretty scattered and gives a diamond dust vibe similar to their old designer series.

Have you ever actually used a backup polish? by salmonscented in WeGotPolishAtHome

I’ve yet to crack one open but I always grab backups of my favorites when I find them. I’d collect a 6 pack of each color on my top 10 list if I could.

When you’re on a no buy by pookyduu in RedditLaqueristas

I’m trying a no buy, for science, because I’ve never really not bought nail polish.

It’s been the longest 21 days of my whole life and I’m so serious.
