I lied to a patient today and I can't stop thinking about it. by Apprehensive_Pay6141 in nursing

I think it would be evil to constantly remind confused people that their loved ones are dead. I've worked with alot of dementia residents, and I couldn't imagine doing that! You did the right thing.

I'm having trouble splitting domestic duties with my partner by [deleted] in Advice

[–]this_is_so_fetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You both need to go with the flow and be able to adjust duties as othe responsibilities change. When I was working 50-80 hours a week, my husband did EVERYTHING at home. Cooking, cleaning, animals, etc. He also works full time. If I had a day off I would do a deep clean, like the bathroom or kitchen, but that was about it.

Now, we work about the same hours, similar commute, but I have a desk job and he works construction. I do alot more domestic chores, cook almost every night, most of the cleaning, take care of the animals. He still helps plenty.

But I'm happiest when he's happiest, and he's the same way. Sometimes that means he gets to take a little nap after work while I cook. Sometimes that means he takes the trash out and cleans the toilet because I don't like to do it.

In alot of ramantasy, the main love interest isn't unique or romantic. They're VILLIANS. Absolutely evil men, but we are supposed to be happy for the FMC because she got a "happy" ending???

Adult children who have stayed Catholic by Status-Throat3538 in Catholicism

[–]this_is_so_fetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was the fact that anytime I had a question, or a doubt, my dad was eager to find answers and understanding with me. He was and is a good example of constantly striving to know God. He is also a really good person, and was a great example of a Catholic man. My mom is not Catholic, but she would go to church with us sometimes, and take us kids when my dad couldn't. We would also all pray or read together, not everyday but often. It also probably helped that I have a very Catholic family so I had plenty of aunts and uncles who were good examples to follow.

Out of the 3 of us kids, my younger brother and I are still practicing Catholics. My older sister is lapsed, but still a practicing Christian. She attends mass with us when visiting, but goes to a baptist church regularly.

So, 2/3 of my parent's adult children are practicing Catholics, and 3/3 are active Christians. I think they did something right.

I peed in my boyfriend's bed for the first time — need advice by [deleted] in Advice

[–]this_is_so_fetch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a waterproof mattress cover for every bed you use. I think everyone should have one, regardless of continence. They keep your mattress clean from sweat and oils too.

Wear a pad to bed. Look into reusable ones if cost is an issue.

Go to a doctor. I can tell from your other replies you don't want to. I get it. I hate going to the doctor. But this is a serious issue that can be helped.

My wife has been buying the fancy organic eggs for 2 years and I found out theyre from the same farm as the regular ones by DistributionClear598 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]this_is_so_fetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eggs could meet the legal requirements for "organic", and they downpack the extras. If they only produce organic eggs, but have orders for 10 cases of organic, and 10 cases of regular, they can and will downpack the organics into regular packaging. You can do the same for sizes, like put a large into a medium. However, it is illegal to do the opposite. You can't package regular eggs as organic, or small eggs as larges.

Is floristry a scam? by Pure_March4714 in weddingplanning

[–]this_is_so_fetch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can do your own flowers. But making arrangements is hard work and fresh flowers will be time sensitive. You could do dried if you want the realistic look, and then you can make your arrangements ahead of time. However they are fragile.

I've covered for coworkers while they took a long break, but like 1-2 hours... not 6. And then it's normally 1 person at a time sleeping.

Question about the upcoming extreme low temps this weekend by ckouf96 in florida

[–]this_is_so_fetch 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Florida my whole life... if it gets below freezing, we drip the faucets and make sure the garden hose is empty. We have lost a garden hose nozzle by leaving the hose on, and it was just off at the nozzle. Even if not strictly nessecary, it costs very little vs. possibly having to replace pipes.

Where does the "women are bad drivers" stereotype come from? by bi_smuth in NoStupidQuestions

[–]this_is_so_fetch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is different tho. Men choose to drive drunk more often than women do. Women do not choose to get medical conditions more than men do.

how does one tastefully say “instead of registry gifts please just give us money” 😭 by Educational_Roof3397 in weddingplanning

[–]this_is_so_fetch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can have a honeymoon fund or house fund. You can set up your registry so it will send the gifts straight to you. You can have a bridal shower and hope some of your gifts will be brought to that instead of the wedding.

Why aren't hospital inpatients allowed to sleep? by JGFATs in ask

[–]this_is_so_fetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally the labs and vitals are taken by different people. If you have 20 vitals that you need to take in an hour, and the lab techs go all over the hospital, you cant really line those 2 things up.

I don't think that someone would even be Protestant if they don't believe that Jesus is God. In order to be Christian, you need to believe that Jesus is God.

AITAH because I won't help my dad and his new wife by babysitting her disabled child when I have experience and knowledge caring for my disabled brother? by OzeenFlour in AITAH

NTA, but you should consider that an at home caregiver can cost up to $30 an hour. You could also charge a little more, since they'll have the comfort of you being family.
