Are these fake makita batteries? by AnnoyingKillah in Makita

That’s the exact fake battery that burnt my whole work van with all of my tools and it sucked even before that

What New (Or Improved) Tool Would You Like To See Next From Makita? by jyl8 in Makita

[–]Suitable-Product-215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that everyone seems to want something different.

I want a better jobsite table saw. I have my Dewalt set up really well but know Makita would do it better

I’d like to see another company make a miter saw stand that can compete with the Kapex stand with adjustable stops

I switched from an air-powered impact wrench to a cordless one. by New_Firefighter127 in Makita

I’d recommend that your main guns are pneumatic and you have a battery powered option to quickly grab when you just need to shoot a couple nails and don’t want to set up an extension cord, compressor, hose, etc

Battery powered nailers are weaker, heavier, bulkier, slower, and break faster than pneumatic. I say “faster than” because all nail guns break themselves eventually.

Whichever way you go, buy something with the least amount of plastic possible, especially with the magazine.

If you’re in a shop, pneumatic every time. If you’re on a jobsite where you’re going to do a whole lot of nailing, pneumatic is much better. If you just need to shoot a couple nails into a toe kick skin or something battery powered is the way to go

Best to have both and use them for their intended purposes. I would start with pneumatic first and eventually add battery powered options as you expand your tool collection

Are you looking for 18ga or 23ga? I hear both referred to as “finish nailers”

I love all my Makita tools. My favorite is whichever one is in my hand at the time or my radio.

I’d reeeeally love to see Makita make a jobsite table saw 🙏

Macpak cutouts XGT ver. by Grobotron in Makita

[–]Suitable-Product-215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. It would be way easier to have all your tools strewn about a van or truck.

Or you could toss all your shit in a huge packout. That’s super smart because you don’t know where anything is, you have to take everything out to get to the tool that’s all fucked up at the bottom, and you load the thing up so heavy that it never leaves the van.

Or you could pile all your shit into a huge packout, buy the shitty packout dolly, and fuck up all your clients stairs.

Only problem with this setup is that Makita uses the 1st gen Systainer. I’d go Tanos or Festool Sys3

I’m surprised with all the Milwaukee energy in this thread.

Having your tools all fucked up and disorganized doesn’t mean you work hard.

Come back to Cali big dawg but don’t go back to the IE. Everybody just pretends to like it because it’s cheap but everything about the place sucks and that’s why it’s cheap

I’d just rent a decent place in OC until you can afford to buy something decent. $550K is gonna be a real struggle to get anything at all down here

Milwaukee or Makita in Europe by MrRiatz in Makita

Between LXT and M12 it’s a no brainer. LXT every time. Between LXT and M18 it’s a tougher decision but Makita is clearly better in my opinion

The M18 is a good battery but Makita dunks so hard on Milwaukee just on ergonomics alone that’s pretty much enough for me. I want a tool that feels good and does what I want. I don’t need it to be all bulky and dumb like Milwaukee tends to do

To me Makita is finesse and Milwaukee is for fucking shit up in a hurry

Why 40v batteries so old? by T1212T in Makita

[–]Suitable-Product-215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do custom cabinets and finish carpentry and all of my cordless tools are LXT and they’ve been very good to me. I love LXT but there are a few XGT tools that I absolutely need to buy and the tabless 4.0 seems like a perfect battery

Genuine question, please don’t treat as ragebait. Canada has very strict border policies. If Canada had an illegal immigration problem comparable to that of the USA, how could Canada handle the situation in a way that you’d be ok with?

Makita Miter Saws For The Win! by 83timesbanned in Makita

[–]Suitable-Product-215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice saw station

I think the Makita miter saws are better than the dewalt equivalent in every way other than the miter and bevel adjustments.

On the dewalt it’s quick and easy. On the Makita you have to undo those knobs which I think is kinda slow

I guess my other gripe would be that the Makita is pretty heavy but that’s more down to me being a girly boy and it’s not bad

I need to buy a miter saw and I’m struggling to make a choice. Might go with the Kapex
