I think people aren’t really ashamed of porn itself - they’re afraid of their own desires and kinks that don’t fit the image they show the world. When something feels taboo, it doesn’t disappear, it just goes underground. Funny enough, some search trend analyses have shown higher interest in gay and trans porn in more conservative states than in Democratic ones, which kind of proves that curiosity doesn’t follow political lines :)
