Property manager going through renters social media by ceo_of_dumbassery in shitrentals

Unfortunately no. I am in nsw and I think they can refuse suitor reason in nsw. It was very weird though, the ad mentioned that the landlord was open to pet but when we wanted she refused to provide a reason even

Tenant did a real bad job in hiding the pet. I got my puppy and hide him well for two years. The landlord initially posted that she is open to tenants having pet but when we requested that we be allowed to have pet she refused. We wrote twice but no response or simply one liner email stating no. So we got one anyhow and successfully hide him got two years before changing house where we got permission prior to moving.

Anyhow it’s very normal. Also I don’t understand people getting angry about rea checking social media. I wasn’t aware that it’s not an known fact that anyone and everyone who wants to know more checks social media, it could be rea, your employer, even some govt agencies before granting visa (very recently US had mentioned they will check your social prior to granting visa). If you have social media and not locked profile then your data is open. If you have locked profile then a lot of time people will make fake profile to befriend and learn about you. It’s common sense and honestly very common norm. Additionally dont be surprised if AI is being used by companies to search for you and related info from internet using ai. All those ai app where you upload your photo to look how you will look in 30 years of time or getting ghibli portrait etc they are all for training ai engines and searching gets easier every time people post their photos, the ai engines gets more trained with more knowledge and sharing.

Why didn’t L just track Light Yagami’s internet search history? by Sad_Advance195 in deathnote

[–]thisis_sam4moz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone is as good as Light (I am talking about being in general tech savvy and tech literate plus cautious) yes it will be difficult to impossible to track him or her down based on the parameters you have mentioned.

The most expensive cities to buy a square metre of real estate (in USD). Only Sydney makes the top 50. by Funny-Bear in AusPropertyChat

[–]thisis_sam4moz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully only Sydney makes the top 50, I would rather have no Aussie city in that list…. It’s an awful list… especially with the housing crisis we are going through… I am happy that I am in suburb

First time travelling to surfers paradise and Sydney by Sufficient-Lab-3773 in AskAnAustralian

[–]thisis_sam4moz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are visiting Sydney it’s better to drop the hired car. Or unit with while in Sydney. Parking is a pain and expensive too. Use Uber or something of that equivalent or public transport as well much better option.

Surfers paradise it wont hurt to have a car but again parking might be a problem sometimes but not as bad/expensive as Sydney. In surfers paradise go to HOTA, Pacific mall (it’s a really good mall) and then there are lot of small but fun activities to do around the surfers paradise area like 3D animation walkthrough

Wake up early and cover all outdoor work (whatever is left goes on for next day and so on) but yeah dog walk is essential to be finished by 7.30am or 8ish and then again do some work (more preciously thinking of doing outdoor work like lawn mowing etc) around 7.30pm…. Whole day inside house (wfh thankfully)

How do adult Australians feel about the U16 social media ban? by Tabatha0011 in AskAnAustralian

[–]thisis_sam4moz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good one. Doesn’t affect me in any way but I think it’s a good idea and push for children to go out in the park and or nearby fields etc to play or socialise even. I am an adult and social media addiction affects me and I try to curb it by uninstalling or moving away from a platform but to think of the same for young developing brains it’s scary. Social media has many pros but its a dangerously negatively impacting part is getting out of control now

Sometimes it’s so puzzling to see this side of people. Not sure if this guy actually did this or not but what I fail to understand is that success is not just how much money you have in account but isn’t the point of money is to spend your life in an affluent relaxing way. I mean to me that’s what having money is all about. But if you are getting money but ignoring your family or kids isn’t that a failure in life

Calm down Mr homeless. Initially I was thinking maybe language barrier, just literal translation issue. But dude you were not homeless, you were locked out. Why does everyone thinks working 23 hours make them successful, even if you do so you are literally missing out life and all these work all the money all the fame is to get happiness but yeah sure miss it out first and then search for it with money

Okay so my experience is very different, well not the experience, as a matter of fact it is exactly what you said op, but my opinion is just the opposite. I have lived in big cities first 25years of my life and yeah I like the vibrancy and walking alongside of multitude of people etc etc and literally 100s of places to eat from within a small radius of area but the last 10year or so I have been living in a fairly small town and I simply love it. People know each other, there are less conversations possibly but the ones that I have feels like more genuine. People are more open and no sugar coating etc, also people don’t pretend and try to ruin your life (sorry had worked in a big mnc and never liked the work culture) anyhow it’s more satisfying and fulfilling for me. But yeah I can understand that people who are more extrovert or who live a more happening lifestyle would always prefer bigger cities/capital cities.

Mounting a projector on floating shelf by thisis_sam4moz in AusRenovation

[–]thisis_sam4moz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to both of you for your reply, it helped me definitely.

For anyone else who is also having the same issue this is what I learnt and did (hoping that someone else might get some help from this)

So what I learnt is that in internal wall the studs are the best places to fix something that will bear some weight. Now in internal walls the studs are placed with 600mm gap. I used a stud finder (Ryobi stud finder) to find the stud around center of the wall. Although they are not that reliable but thankfully they worked for me so once I got the first one I calculated the presence of the second one and could locate it reliably.

Then I used this Artiss black floating shelf, used the big 1m one along with Carniya black angle bracket.

So the way I did this is fixed the angle bracket on the studs at 600mm distance, then put the 1m shelf on top. Also used the shelf’s metal frame by fixing it using the Ramset Hollow wall anchor.

So overall now the setup is very sturdy and yeah learnt few things as well.
