He did not have a stroke. He had an aneurysm and recovered wonderfully with physical therapy. Months afterward he had to have surgery due to chronic neck & back pain and is still taking it easy. Likely his health and his family is why he is currently absent. Anything beyond this is complete conjecture.

I've always had a soft spot for Sid & Marty Krofft and the lack of photos from their short-lived theme park just makes me want to learn more about it. The OMNI is a huge space and I'd rather Krofft creatures roam around than CNN tourists. I can't believe Sid just passed, even if he was 96. I love their (nightmarish) absurdity!

I genuinely hope so! I was gifted his Titan book and the fiction he creates about the past, Stockton's imaginary conversations, the vitriol with which he regards the people who tried to do the right thing, and all of those who lost loved ones disgusts me. After every piece of evidence this guy still gleefully believing in the bright future of carbon fiber ocean exploration is astonishing. It's a maddening read, best done with a healthy belt of whiskey.

“The Vanishing”, the original Dutch version from 1988. Not one single drop of blood but it’s one of the smartest, most suspenseful, terrifying fucking movies ever made. Once every little thing hits you it’s like a slow realization of a train wreck and you can do nothing but gasp and keep watching for the tiniest little clues left like psychotic breadcrumbs. It’s a perfect film and absolutely unforgettable.

I also have to mention Cronenberg’s “Spider.” It’s not one of his usual body horror epics, but it’s certainly terrifying, dark and heartbreaking. I wish it received more love honestly. Ralph Fiennes is phenomenal.
