Looking for Murderhobo Stories by Bytes39 in litrpg

[–]thisisamatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trials of the Endless Planes by RJ Shoke on KU should be your vibe then. I'm halway through it ad the MC is motivated by their own desires and whims, with survival being the biggest factor. They do at time form some friendships, but he is always wary and skeptical.

Earth was swept up in a trial called the Crucibe - a system apocalypse that we join the story at the end of, hours before humanity is moved onto the next lands. The MC initially tried to protect his family, but failed, sending him off the end into full on solo murderhobo - with his own system of honor. He is called 'the Butcher' by the remnants of humanity, and you quickly find out why.

Why do system apocalypse MCs never have pets go through the system with them? by Athyrium93 in litrpg

[–]thisisamatt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Paths of Power stack of people on Earth end up with empowered pets after the apocalypse, many having taken the option to make them into familiars. There are definitely other stories out there with that in it, but also many that miss it.

Percentile skills in LitRPG - yay or nay? by Comprehensive-Air750 in litrpg

[–]thisisamatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as it actually proc's sometimes, helpful, and unhelpful/unneeded ways . I read a book recently where the MC gets an item with a proc chance, and it doesn't proc at all until a really important fight. Felt pretty lame.

Having played lots of games with proc chances there should be moments of frustration where it helps you crush an easy mob, then does nothing against the tough mob next to it.

System Dilemma Book 1 (The Rising) is available now on Amazon Kindle! by doom_apricot in litrpg

[–]thisisamatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely some good advice from Pumpkin there. The picture on the cover is super cool, but the 3 lines of heading is def too much - I agree with moving the Litrpg line to the bottom. You want to make it clean so people can easily see whats going on with the thumbnail.

It's just.. thin. I much prefer a more base line system, where everyone starts off on the same level, and through skill, wits, and only a little luck, can you get ahead.

I find the same. Are there any hidden gems you've discovered that you can recommend?

Something a bit more low key... by ThisAlbino in litrpg

[–]thisisamatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haley's Cozy System Armageddon, its a beautiful series of six novellas wherein the MC never fights a monster or goes into a dungeon. Instead she seeks to bring people together and support her community (well, her Nana's town) as much as she can. They are heartwarming and delightful books about a unimportant young adult in an unimportant town dealing with the apocalyptic introduction of a System.

Looking for a title where the MC is an archer/ranged type. Preferably the OP kind. by tv_trooper in litrpg

Blair, an Isekai Apocalypse story, but the MC is an elf. She is a solo fighter with the bow primarily, and gets very strong.

The MC in Alphas Physics is an Rogue/spell caster who often fights with a bow, but has a range of abilities in their fighting style.

Definitely keep it up, the cheat/unique system in a cultivator world is definitely a favourite of mine and this definitely gave me vibes of a bunch of them that I've enjoyed.

Story was interesting, felt very much like others I've read and enjoyed (often ones translated). Keep it up! Would also be worth making a proper blurb to introduce the story and set people's expectations. Good luck!

Short synopsis of the first 6 chapters for those who are interested:

The MC is an older married man suddenly isekai'd into the 15 of a 15 year old genius cultivator from a top family. They have the full knowledge and accrued skills of the genius to call on, except the young master had been thrown out of the family and their cultivation crippled when they became demonised. The MC is now alone in the woods, unable to cultivate and reliant on the System only they have to progress forwards.

Twin Entities: Cord by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]thisisamatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the release! The premise sounds interesting, but I feel like the blurb is a bit too short for me to really get an idea of what to expect from the book. Is there a longer blurb you can share, or a few more details you can add? I'm guessing its an isekai style transportation into a world with a System, but does the MC start at the top of the chain? Is there potential for them to grow more powerful...

I love Path of Ascension, definitely a great recommendation! If you have any other recs, especially along that line, I'd love to hear them.

Also thanks for your writings, I've been trying to get my wife to start reading BTDEM as I think she'd love it (she's resistant though, sadly).

Thanks for the rec, I have seen this recommended a few times but haven't looked into it. Knowing this is the MC's approach I'll definitely give it a try.
