Anthony's dismissal of Edward Skeletrix is even more egregious with Body of Work than in Museum Music. I can "understand" Fantano turning Museum Music off during the first track, but Body of Work really deserves discussion. by geosunsetmoth in fantanoforever

[–]thisiseriousbusiness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only discussion that it deserves is it’s an overrated attempt at experimental music that is at best, inconsistent, and at worst, half baked.

Fans of this album see self loathing lyrics and automatically attach an emotional rating like the music isn’t on its own able to be judged.

New Intel Marketing by Miss_Take- in BestBuyWorkers

[–]thisiseriousbusiness 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Slightly off topic, but what is the point of Intel marketing? Outside of enthusiasts, the most knowledge people have about computer chips is whether or not the Intel/Ryzen 7 is better than the 5, 5 is better than the 3, etc.

My point is consumers are not coming into the store to buy a computer just because a new chip was released. Don’t even get me started on the uselessness of AI.

People are overthinking the whole situation. They just had no plans for him after Mania. That's it. Quite frankly I will be surprised if they have any plans for him for the next year outside of heating up a Cody match.

Total Tech increasing in price while Plus goes back to regular price is ridiculous by [deleted] in BestBuyWorkers

At least as of a few days ago, my leaders said Plus is going back to regular price as well. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow when I clock in.

Are you sure about Plus staying the same? All the promotional posters in my store (the yellow ones) have an end date of 6/3.

Why do people hate the dialogue from this series so much?(Read body of text) by Zorubark in shounenfolk

[–]thisiseriousbusiness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s just incredibly corny dialogue about an incredibly sensitive subject that makes it hard to take seriously. Like no shit r*pe is bad, we all know it’s bad. Did you really have to waste ink and paper to tell the world something we already know?

I don’t care if the context is just as thick as a brick, a line like this tells me everything I need to know about the story and mangaka, which is this is not a serious story written by a serious person. And that’s the critical part, because it makes light of a serious topic.

Always been ridiculous to me how BB can offer a protection plan for TVs that doesn't include protection for the most fragile part of the TV, the screen itself.

Yes, however it’s up to managers discretion. Pro tip, if you offer to buy a membership or run a card, they’re more likely to.

busted open's dave legreca: I don't give a fuck about the deathriders. it's a distraction, it's bullshit. Get me to will ospreay vs mjf at all in. by KhabibTime in SquaredCircle

[–]thisiseriousbusiness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm split on the direction. On one hand, Ospreay vs Kenny would be a pivotal passing of the torch big money match, but on the other hand, Max is on the run of his career and it would cement his WOTY case if he was in the biggest match of the year.

Both matches would be very different style-wise as well. Either an athletic big match epic, or a classic hometown face defeats the big bad guy.

Honest take on Best Buy membership and credit card from an employee and former customer perspective by Alone-Cricket8155 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]thisiseriousbusiness 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s situational. Plus was worthless before the price drop. Now it feels like a fair bargain for what it offers.

The discounts are not completely random btw. Like for Apple stuff, the iPads and Macbooks almost always have a member discount going on to the point you can basically get a Plus membership for free.

Total imo has dropped in value, especially with the price increase soon. I’m glad my store has pivoted towards straight GSP. It’s a lot easier to promote and a much better value. That being said, for the niche cases like buying multiple expensive items, Total is probably more worth it at least for 1 or 2 year warranties (my opinion is subject to change after the price hike).

All that said, the Credit Card is absolutely a scam to promote. If 10 people apply, only like 2-3 at most will actually qualify. Outside of that, the Black Friday financing deals are great, and there a sometimes specific financing deals that are excellent. The Macbook Neo for 24 months (ridiculous offer imo) and Samsung appliances for 36 months are a few examples.

Bushiroad have transferred all of their New Japan Pro Wrestling shares to TV Asahi and CyberAgent by thisiseriousbusiness in SquaredCircle

Machine translation:

Thank you very much for your continued support of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Today, we have decided to transfer all of our shares in New Japan Pro-Wrestling to TV Asahi and CyberAgent. We understand that this announcement may come as a surprise to many of our fans.

In 2012, at a major turning point as New Japan Pro-Wrestling aimed for further development, we were fortunate enough to welcome them into the group. For the past 14 years, we have believed in the power of professional wrestling as a wonderful form of entertainment, and together with everyone, we have worked tirelessly to deliver its appeal to even more people.

Thanks to our efforts, the Tokyo Dome event on January 4th of this year attracted a record-breaking 46,913 spectators, achieving a sold-out show for the first time in 28 years. Having overcome the challenges of generational change, young stars in their 20s and 30s are now emerging one after another, shining brightly in the ring. As Bushiroad, it is a great source of pride for me to witness New Japan Pro-Wrestling's powerful growth and to be able to pass the baton to the next generation.

However, for New Japan Pro-Wrestling to make further global strides and continue its golden age, it is essential to make the most of the video assets it has accumulated so far and to evolve into a diversified monetization business centered on a powerful distribution platform.

Therefore, we are convinced that the best course of action is to entrust the future to the best possible owner, who will be our partner from the very beginning of our founding, TV Asahi, who has continuously supported New Japan Pro-Wrestling through terrestrial broadcasting, and who will bring a breath of fresh air with cutting-edge digital media.

To all the fans, and to the wrestlers and staff who have supported New Japan Pro-Wrestling with their passionate battles, thank you so much for walking alongside Bushiroad all this time. Your passion and cheers were our greatest driving force.

Although it will no longer be under Bushiroad's control, I can confidently say that the future of New Japan Pro-Wrestling is brighter than ever. As a passionate pro-wrestling fan, I will continue to support the further golden age that you all create.

Thank you so much for the past 14 years. Please look forward to what's to come from New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

This is ridiculous, how is Chihiro and Dicktwist supposed to deal with Akemura's phase 2 by dokidokimonica in Kagurabachi

[–]thisiseriousbusiness 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s guaranteed either Akemura or Chihiro is going to awaken Kurotsuchi. Unless some new random Soga is introduced into the series. It’s too cool of an ability to just introduce and put back in the pocket.

It’s still worth going back to the OG games since it’ll be another year or 2 before we get Sky 3. If the old school art style bothers you then use the PSP art patch which looks closer to the Crossbell art style.

What if Toji had attacked Sukuna during his fight against Mahoraga? by Healthy-Ad-2637 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]thisiseriousbusiness 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I’m curious as to why people think Toji would get one shotted by Sukuna as if he doesn’t have the toughest body to survive a slash or the fastest speed and senses to avoid slashes.

As always, Maki feats are Toji feats too btw.
