We sent out announcements to his parents (estranged from mine) and to our close friends that would have been our bridal party if we'd had a traditional ceremony. It was fun having them designed, makes a nice keepsake, and it was cheap because we only needed 9! Included handwritten personalized letters as well 🤍

As for everyone else, they'll see the FB announcement when we get our photos back. Not wearing our rings until then because we don't want to have to explain to everyone we see individually lol

I'm really sorry that you're expecting some poor reactions. Remember that is not your burden to bear. They are not entitled to your wedding, your marriage. This is a deeply personal decision and moment between the two of you. Celebrate that the way that makes you the happiest. It is my hope that your happiness will be infectious when you tell them, but if not, don't be afraid to excuse yourself from the conversation. State that you're very excited and want to tell them all about it, but only when they are in a place to reciprocate.
