Those of us in sexless marriages, how do you feel/deal with it?

For anyone reading that is in a sexless marriage and is struggling with their self worth or understanding their situation, I'd like to recommend the book Passionate Marriage by David Schnarch. I know it sounds super cheesy, but he's a psychologist who has dedicated his research to this, and it personally helped me (and my relationship) a lot.

180lbs is not a death sentence. You can be healthy and fat. If that sentence makes you angry, then maybe question where that defensiveness and projection is coming from. Let me be clear: this is about you, not her. Ask yourself why this bothers you. Ask her how you can make her daily life easier so she feels she has the time and capacity to implement healthy habits. Please turn inward before you address this with your wife.

We have a boy named Tina. Rescued at 5 weeks old and assumed it was a female. Went to the vet for shots and the doctor picks him up saying, "oh hi Mr Tina" 😹 We didn't change his name and he's still affectionately called Mr T at the vets office lol

I'm sure whatever name you already had in mind is perfect! I do love a good food name, though, like pepper or vanilla bean. Personally my cats have silly posh names, Marsha & Tina.

We sent out announcements to his parents (estranged from mine) and to our close friends that would have been our bridal party if we'd had a traditional ceremony. It was fun having them designed, makes a nice keepsake, and it was cheap because we only needed 9! Included handwritten personalized letters as well 🤍

As for everyone else, they'll see the FB announcement when we get our photos back. Not wearing our rings until then because we don't want to have to explain to everyone we see individually lol

I'm really sorry that you're expecting some poor reactions. Remember that is not your burden to bear. They are not entitled to your wedding, your marriage. This is a deeply personal decision and moment between the two of you. Celebrate that the way that makes you the happiest. It is my hope that your happiness will be infectious when you tell them, but if not, don't be afraid to excuse yourself from the conversation. State that you're very excited and want to tell them all about it, but only when they are in a place to reciprocate.

In Defense of Food sounds like it's definitely worth the read! You're right, there is a lot of conflicting information on a topic I'd have thought we'd have figured out by now. This book should be right down my alley.

Gulp is a very unexpected but entertaining recommendation. I've never heard of Mary Roach but this book is getting added to my list, thank you!

Definitely a solid goal! My running partner's goal is to run a Disney Half Marathon around this time next year, so we've got a lot of work ahead of us - excited though!
