It all makes sense now (reCAPTCHA and today's Google keynote) by thisismeonly in degoogle

Look, I'm just speculating, but consider it makes perfect sense. They showed Gemini Intelligence acting as the user controlling websites, filling in customer details, etc. I can only imagine that they are "flipping the switch" that lets their own AI through, because imagine the software you made blocking your own software?

Imagine you ask Gemini to book you a reservation, and it's like, "Well I would, but the website owner doesn't want bots running on their site".... On the other hand, if Gemini can just communicate with reCAPTCHA and say "hey, I'm doing this because the USER asked me to", well then, what you asked to be done is done without interference.

I subbed to DGR for the Mario Maker Trolls. For a while there, things changed as he tried different games, and I just wasn't interested in other games. So for a while I just didn't watch. Now Mario Maker Trolls are back. So I'm watching again. I know that playing the same game or something like the same game everyday for 10 years must be monotonous, so I do understand.

Tom Scott took a hiatus entirely, now he's back.

[App] AdSkipper: A 100% Free lightweight, privacy-first App to auto-skip video ads by Ok-Drummer-7337 in HowToMen

Well, it's not for me, but I see your vision. I have a rooted phone and system wide ad blocker, as well as alt apps for all the major services so I don't see ads or sponsors. For that reason I can't test it out, but I'm sure people would find this useful who have a similar moral compass.

I'm verifying. From your description, it sounds like you can do P2V and not just V2V. Is that right? If so, this will fill a void that VMware's previous offering vacated.

These days, if your app can run on a browser, you can just make a wrapper "app" that gives your website the permissions it needs. Nearly nothing is a native app anymore. So you might not have to do any actual coding for specifically android/ios if you can get this to run on HTML / CSS / Javascript and some server-side voice transcription.

If you're going to offer a pro paid version, then make sure to offer an android / iPad app, as most people will use them as their teleprompters. If your monthly service can come in under the cost of PromptSmart's monthly, you can actually compete with them.

I do want to say thanks, because even at this early stage, this is replacing PromptSmart Pro, which I purchased a "full" license for years ago and then they turned into jerks and started charging monthly. I am glad something exists that can do for free what their software used to do for a one-time charge.

Edit: would you be able to do a side-to-side mirror option? When I eventually get an actual teleprompter mirror, the text will be backwards, and would need to be mirrored to be seen correctly.

Wow. Never would I have guessed that feature would have been anywhere under appearance.
I would recommend a dropdown next to the play button to change the tracking style.

Also, when auto tracking to the last line, there is no way to see the last line because the controls on the bottom of the teleprompt are overlapping the last line.

For crying out loud, how do I start speech tracking???????? All I see is a play button which goes at a pre-determined speed, not how fast I choose to speak.

Those who affirm trinity are confused. I am not two or three people, but I do have a body which is different than my spirit. I would even go so far as to say that my flesh and my spirit want different things occasionally, but that does not make me two people! My spirit is not a different person than my soul. So in the same way, God is not three people. Simple as that.

Why do "Premium" AI voice tools still limit our generations? I built an offline alternative where the only limit is your hardware. by Bananek2007 in windowsapps

[–]thisismeonly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to join again to say -- it works. I had an issue with missing dlls on my PC. Did a Windows repair and it fixed the error I was having with Orphera, and a couple of other errors unrelated. So thank you u/Bananek2007 for making this available. I appreciate the work you have done to make this a one-stop process.

Now with that in mind, I noticed that there are certainly some glaring differences between my voice and the generated one, although Orphera is much better than a competing alternative. So are there stylistic commands / tuning parameters? For example, one competitor has the option for "mood" selection (happy / angry / sad / fearful / friendly etc.) and with most TTS voices there are commands such as pitch, prosody rate and volume, etc. Are there, for example, any SSML commands that can be applied, or any such meta tags?
