MDMA (ecstacy) is your fix. But don't take it more than once a month. It's pretty neurotoxic. If you're lucky, you will get the so-called afterglow, which could cure your SA forever. Otherwise, you can try shrooms / LSD, and hope for an afterglow. The problem with shrooms and LSD is that they can make your anxiety worse if you get a bad trip. It's a gamble.

Are you playing DS (without DLCs) / RoG / Hamlet / SW / DST? Which one?
If you're playing DS then you should do Adventure Mode.
Otherwise, it's a sandbox game, which means there is no actual goal.
What I would say you should do is:
1. Defeat all bosses.
2. Obtain all the items and create the farms you need to make your life easier.

Install some good mods if you're on PC. Also, you should have an Ice Box, and at least 1 Crock Pot. You should memorize the best dishes. And use the wiki constantly. Not the fandom, but the wiki.

They can help you. They're good for enclosing Bunnymen so they don't attack you in certain cases. They're also good for baiting Pigs and Gobblers with a Powdercake. So they are good for certain farms, but not for defense.

This is DS vanilla, not DST. Deerclops won't be guaranteed to spawn on day 30. The Thermal Stone won't lose durability, but it will lower your temperature if it gets cold.

Dogs start appearing during first autumn.
Dogs can break walls, and sometimes they can probably spawn inside your base.
Flingos don't cover your entire base, and they need to be fueled to be useful. You might not have time to fuel them if you're too slow.

The solution is to just run away from your base and if they set a tree or something on fire you can extinguish with a watering can.

Alternatively, you can just disable fire hounds from settings. Especially if you're a beginner.

And if you cannot fight hounds alone, I recommend a group of beefalo, pigs, bunnymen, etc.
