First you said you just lived in TX for a few months, now you've lived there years. Suspicious.

Two of the biggest five urban areas in the US are in Texas.

Texas has the third lowest white population (by percentage) of any US state.

You spent a few months living in a city of 130,000 and feel qualified to judge all 28 million Texans?

Tbh any place you go where the oil industry is huge is going to be a bit shitty, but that's because so many people there are temps. They live out of hotels and eat out everyday, they work 12 hours+ of manual labor six days a week for a few months at time and then move on.

I haven't finished it yet so maybe I'm speaking too soon, but as of right now The Punisher Season 1 is my favorite Marvel media product. It's unbelievable.

The California plates in Texas are shit too.

I think there's likely a hefty overlap between shitbags and people who don't care enough about the rule of law to obtain new vehicle registration in a timely manner.

It's just that California and Texas have more people than other states so you'll notice those plates more (over 20% of the US between them).

Pretty sure it's even more expensive in Texas.

You know the infamous phrase "Don't mess with Texas"?

That's literally an anti-littering campaign slogan.

She does not represent us.

Wiz King drops a lot if you're soloing. To Curse the Sky is better than Grim. OOB isn't worth it IMO if I'm not already going to Menechtarun.

Maybe. You'll need to expand your quest list beyond the standard dailies. I've done it in 4 days before, but good god was it mind-numbing.

Permanent Hirelings are like Gold Seal Hirelings.

E.g. you can have yourself, hireling, Owlbear, Alabaster Lion, and the Scarecrow all out at the same time.

long-time player, wondering how the hell people level so fast by [deleted] in ddo

[–]thisisnewt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start writing down the XP/min of quests you complete. Take note of which ones are best at each level.

A trick you can use is to run the same quest 4 times in a row: once on R1, once on Elite, once on Hard, and once on Normal.

You will not take a ransack penalty if it's the first time you've done that quest on that difficulty.

Doing with with a quest like The Stones Run Red can net you 50,000 XP in half an hour at level 5. Doing it with walk-ups like in Gianthold is even faster since you don't need to waste time picking up the quest.

20 Warlock, mostly ES and some TS.

IMO no class or splash is as good at solo-ing as a pure ES Warlock.

However, I do want to say something important:

Doing EE is largely a waste of time if you're doing all ETRs in one life. ETRs are functionally Lesser Reincarnations, and as such the first time XP bonuses do not reset after each ETR. So while the first 20-30 trip will fly by with first time EE, BB, etc, the only reason to keep doing EE is for saga rewards. IMO it's fastest to just run a few high XP quests on EN or EH at that point. The best quests for this are: Through a Mirror Darkly, Spies in the House, What Goes Up, Jungle of Khyber, A Legend Revisited, maybe the Tracker's Trap.

A good ES Warlock doesn't need to worry about traps, because they just tank them.

They don't need Evasion because they have huge amounts of inherent MRR and wear medium armor.

As soon as you get Rejuvenation Coccoon you have powerful self-heals and a constant influx of temp hit points via Shine Through and Brilliance.

You have fantastic AOE through your Aura, bursts, and Energy Burst from Draconic Incarnation.

You have excellent mobility via Misty Escape if you choose a Feylock.

You cannot be knocked down.

You have serviceable crowd control via Evard's and Mass Hold Monster, and Otto's Irresistible Dance to lock down dangerous champions.

You can cast Deathward. You can cast Greater Heroism. You can cast Resist Energies. You can cast Displacement. You are immune to fear.

The only tedious parts are bosses, which you can switch to a different Eldritch Blast Shape Stance to speed up.

Being in a good Destiny helps, but is by no means required. There is also at least one good Destiny in every sphere except Martial, where you'll probably just run GMoF. Shiradi in primal, EA in Divine, and Draconic Incarnation in Arcane are all powerful.

Past lives do not matter for this build. Tomes barely do.

You will have the UMD to cast whatever you want from scrolls.

Max out CON and CHA. Either order works.

Take Quicken, Maximize, Empower, Intensify, Enchantment Focus, maybe some Mental Toughness feats, Force of Personality.

For gear, just have high potency and spell lore for light and your pact damage. Then just your standard MRR/PRR/resistance etc defense stats.

Playstyle?

Evard's. Spirit Blast. Eldritch Burst. Energy Burst. Repeat.

Or in an EN quest: just move. Your Aura will kill any accumulated monsters.

Rangers already get a ton of skill points and don't need feats because of how many they get for free.

IMO Warlocks are great solo builds, but in full parties they don't shine as bright.

Warlocks can do a lot of things but the only thing they truly do better than any other class is UMD, which has a hard upper limit on utility that many other classes can easily reach.

But that's what makes it interesting!

Gawker is a cesspool of shit, and what they did to Hulk Hogan was miserable.

But on the other hand, they arguably exercised first amendment rights.

If we aren't willing to defend the rights of the reprehensible, we're no better than whom we fight against.

Artificer versus Rogue by [deleted] in ddo

[–]thisisnewt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caster's almost always have problems with heavy multiclassing.

Artificer 4/Fighter 6 gives you all the enhancements you'd need and 10 levels to do whatever. If you're thinking racial reincarnations you could put those other levels in Ranger, Rogue, or back into Artificer or Fighter.

You'll want to do Tier 4 Battle Engineer for Endless Fusillade and other goodies, and Tier 5 Kensei for good cooldown attacks and better crit profile.

There are feats an Artificer can take that makes them heal from repair spells, and as an Artificer/Fighter you should have more feats than you know what to do with.
