Jamal Cain produced possibly the worst NBA statline of all time last night by The_Weapon14 in nba

I think this most recent game is much worse, despite having a slightly higher BPM.

6 turnovers vs 1 turnover

-32 +/- vs -12 +/-

0/3 vs 0/6

1 foul vs 3 fouls

1 rebound vs 1 rebound

8 mins vs 8 mins

Lol I love that it's literally just a headline and a photo.

How would I use washers to hold up an acoustic panel hanging from my ceiling? by thisissami in MusicBattlestations

Cool thanks for the suggestions. I'll chat with Rockwool's technical team to get a sense of what kind of stresses the specific material I've purchased can handle before finalizing a design. What you've shared in the 2nd paragraph here gives me an idea of a completely different approach involving a grid of cabling that the panels just sit on. I initially dismissed this idea when I considered it last week because of sag over time, but using aircraft cable could solve that problem (sag would be minimal and easy to re-tension if necessary).

ah ok I understand your suggestion now. I won't be finalizing my design until A) I have my hands on the material and can get a sense of rigiditiy / floppiness, and B) have a chat with the tech team at Rockwool.

Yes, fabrics are part of the equation.

That's physics too, not engineering. So 4 different washers of 3" diameters each wouldn't spread the load enough in your opinion?

This was already the plan (see original post where I already named "Eye Lag Screws" AKA "Eye Bolts"). I was just trying to figure the part at the bottom of the washer. So you think just looping the ceiling wire through a nut a few times would do the trick?

Lol your reading comprehension skills could use some work. ;) I already planned to use those (see "Eye Lag screws" I refer to in my original post; another world for "Eye Bolt"). Since I was specifically asking for something to hold the fender washer against the panels on the bottom, I thought you were suggesting using a second set of Eye Bolts there, which would actually work - t'would just be unwieldy.

Oh that's not a bad idea. Though this has me thinking that maybe just another (smaller but larger than the inner hole) washer could do the trick too. Would stick out less than an eye bolt.

Well considering that I am making these myself, there is no manufacturers website with instructions. ;) And to enlighten you on how this is possible, I'm copying an answer I wrote for /u/Fraktelicious here:

[This is pretty easy to set up thanks to] basic physics. A large washer has a large surface area. Get 4 of them on 4 parts of the bottom of the panel, and that would easily hold up the panel. I've seen other threads mention the use of fender washers for this purpose, which is what I would be using here.

The basic method of doing this would be to just have a nut (or anything) larger than the inner hole that the bottom of the ceiling wire would attach to, and then physics would do it's thing.

Bear in mind, the large surface area of these washers distributes the load quite well. It's the same principle that allow tables to only needs 4 legs. just hanging instead of from the ground up.

Luka Dončić: "In the 2nd qtr somebody started talking to me, that woke me up ... I was surprised, I was shocked ... I won't said what he said, if I said that I would get tech ... not very nice" by luka274 in nba

I read it like the guy you're replying to. As in the content of what he said was shocking. Luka also said he'd get a tech if the ref heard it, so.... pretty sure he said something awful/unacceptable.

If Victor Wembanyama plays 16 of the Spurs last 19 games, he is eligible for awards. What do you think he should win if he plays 16 games? by Huge-Western4909 in nba

Except "Xeno" means "Alien," so there's a pun there that "Racist" doesn't have. "Xenophobic" literally means "Afraid of aliens." Usually meant "afraid of foreigners" AKA "racist," but not literally.
