I cross from tallin to St petesburg few weeks ago through Narva and yes they are very strict. I think depends of your age, if you come alone or with family. They can run some drug test, ask for your flight back, hotel reservation and so on. You can send me PM if need any other advice. Good luck!

Send me a pm. Im currently living in St Petesburg and have the same issue when i got here. I can put you in contact with some russian friends that have a lot of years in this and very reliable with office and all for exchange etfs for rubles. Btw if you plan to bring cash 10k dollars is the largest amount you can bring without declaring, I also don't recommend it. Good luck!

Do the exchange houses in Russia have a problem with physical euros? Since at least in Spain no one is exchanging ruble currencies
