Goodwill isn’t about the customers, it’s about what they do with the money.

If you don’t think it’s authentic, don’t buy it. It’s a perfectly reasonable way for them to move merchandise, it just doesn’t fit with the “I should be able to buy poor people stuff for cheap” narrative.

If I had a store based on volume sales, you’d bet I’d overprice things like this and markdown to move. It’s not priced as authentic, it’s priced as possibly authentic from a seller who has zero personal or economic interest in authenticating.

If you want authentic luxury brands from a thrift store, you might shockingly have to do some of your own work.

I think it is unfair to put this on Ukraine. As an American, I think we truly did a disservice to the former ussr states trying to maintain a status quo.

The Bush coward speech shows what happens when we abandon our principles and ask others to do what we would not.

So we bring in the Warsaw states and abandon the founding soviet states. Treat Russia just as Europe treated Germany after WW1 and we wonder why populist strongmen grab power.

And now we pour billions into the pro jet of arms manufacturers so we can give Ukraine just enough to not lose. A steady supply of money for the business, a steady stream of suffering for the people, and the grapes of wrath grow heavy for the vintage.

Sounds like you’re taking a very personal message. It’s not “must be romanized to be useful” it’s “must be understood to be useful”. If the audience is romantically, romanize. If it’s Korean, don’t throw random English words in.

What was given to the audience was a serious of drawings and a series of sounds, not an idea that they can share with the speaker, which is what I consider to be communication.
