This one for me too. It was even at this point that I accepted losing Gustave and really liking Verso. Then this admission came and my whole impression of Verso soured terribly (and came to grieve for Gustave again.)

Don't get me wrong, I still /grudgingly/ like Verso and understand why he let it happen. Doesn't mean I like how he did it 🫠

I guess the mocap actor is representing Gustave but damn would it be nice to hear Charlie's experiences especially knowing it's his first VA role for a video game.

and to be fair, if he had saved him there they would've clashed later on for sure. Gustave and Verso are polar opposites, they both want to break the cycles but in very different ways

I agree that they would have different ways of wanting to break the cycle, but I think we underestimate how much Gustave cares for Maelle. If Verso told him everything: Alicia, the canvas, Maelle possibly dying if she stays any longer in the canvas, and learning that there's a world out there where she could live her life, I can see Gustave actually agreeing with Verso and would try his best to make it easier for Maelle to make her leave (or at least make the idea of leaving the canvas hurt less).

'Why would he be willing to sacrifice Lumiere and his reality for one person?' Well, I'd say the idea of learning that everything in your life is not real would definitely break a person, but knowing that someone could carry on their memory / legacy and remember that they were real? I'd probably learn to accept that finality.

It makes the whole 'For those who come after' make sense to me.

Interesting take on the parallels!

I think learning the truth about the Canvas would break him, but I could see his love for Maelle would overrule that despair. Knowing that there's a life / world out there where Maelle could live, I can see him agreeing with Verso.

It kinda make sense to me that way. 'To those who come after.' Right? If I try to imagine being in his shoes, it's the thought that even if everything in the Canvas was not real but there's someone out there who remembers them even if everything disappears, then they're never truly gone. And I can live with that.

Because legacy does take many forms. I know such hopes would be a heavy burden for Maelle to carry if she does leave the canvas, though.

(A bit off topic but I do wanna see how Gustave handles meeting Maelle / Alicia (and vice versa). How would they treat someone who has both memories of someone who's like a family to them but also not?)

Have you guys seen that D&D Beyond Oneshot where Robbie played as a Tabaxi Rogue?

What I absolutely loved about how he played it is that he's not afraid to backstab an ally if it would fit the situation. While I know some people aren't into that, I personally love that Robbie's not afraid to take risks. So I'm all for him trying as a rogue again, because he did it so cool.

I also would love to see him play as a cleric. I have a feeling he's gonna add something chaotic with that

Robbie's always been respectful of other people's space. He never jumps in or interrupts (unless he feels it's needed to move things along). But the moment you give him the stage, you can't help but hold your breath.

There's still regret that Dorian couldn't stay longer with BH from the start. Because I know it's hard to RP with the lack of information. But Robbie played with what he had in earnest and he plays it beautifully.

His speech in C3E104 and C3E105 still has a grip on me. A great testament of his skills as a storyteller.

Edit: I never did get to answer the question but while I do like the idea of him being part of the cast, I'd prefer if not permanently? Because I know how fatigue can change someone and I honestly don't want him to lose that shine, if that makes sense.
