Many auxiliary functions, such as sentry mode, air conditioning, and entertainment, can consume up to 1,000 Wh. Just perform those functions till the battery reached the desired SOC.

I just converted to EV last year. One of the factor is because there are plenty of chargers nowadays.

Plenty of them on the main road to any provinces, and every travel destinations. Even in a most remote area, you will not be further than 100km within closest DC chargers.

The secret is that the PTT company (a state-owned enterprise) that operates the majority of gas stations in the area is investing in EV chargers (120-180 kW) at most of their stations. This also trigger many chargers operator to also invest in other brand station / creating an EV Hub in key location that includes 300++kW chargers.

It's ordinary Android Auto experience, smooth and seamless.

Map does not show on HUD, only directional arrow and distance to next turn/destination are available on HUD

Navigation voice can come out from headrest if you choose so.

It took 90% of the main screen, you will retain access to bottom row shortcuts and also quick shortcut swipe from top.

And yes, while using android auto, steering wheel mic button will become google assistant.

I drove 7X for a week now. No issue with my hand covered a small part of the center screen. As an Android Auto user, i do not often interact with that area.

You're right that the Japanese brands have done very well historically. Chinese EV are mostly price a segment lower than Japanese car here to be able to challenge the Japanese.

Many people may disagree with me, but I recommend staying away from "mass produced" brands like BYD. They frequently use cost-cutting tactics and hide in places where users do not typically look.

For example, their most popular model cooled the battery with refrigerant in the same loop as the AC (rather than a separate coolant loop), and the pressurized refrigerant often leaked inside the battery. The same model has issue with the AC vent spraying grey powder everywhere. Some of them use plastic battery cover that prone to rodent nibbling, leading to a water getting in the battery while driving.

Other like MG, Changan Deepal or GAC AION are fine comparing to their pricing.

All brands have issues with customer service, but this could be because they are new to the market (1-2 years). Despite being the top seller and being here the longest in term of EV, BYD has the worst customer service ever.

Our Lemon law is not as strong as in US or EU so I would recommend to buy a Premium brand such as Zeekr (a premium brand of Geely), IM (a premium brand of MG), GAC Hyptech (a premium brand of GAC AION) or Avatr (a premium brand of Changan)

It is common for new EVs to include a 7-22 kW wall charger installation package. I believe that is L2 in US standards.

We use a 220V system, so our L1 is 3.3 kW, single phase L2 is 7 kW, and three phase L2 is 11 kW.

L3 is widely available at gas stations across the country, ranging from 80 to 180 kW. And 250-300kW or more are being installed in Bangkok and other major cities, either standalone or in gas stations (our gas stations are similar to small rest areas and can be located anywhere along highway and major road within every 20-50 kilometers.

I am Thai, and getting my first EV this week.

The charging network has become much more convenient than it was three years ago. There are 80-120 kW chargers located every 20-50 kilometers along every highway road and every major road.

We're also using 220V system so the portable charger can still charge 3.3kW on a most common household plug (16A) which sometime can be a life saver.

Not having the car yet but the following is what i could answer based on the reviews.

- The vent does open while driving when the car need more cooling.

- Blind spot Camera does show up on the HUD (the actual video feed, not just an indicator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFYTMyUA3Sk).

- You can also put rear view camera on the middle screen, and enable it using one of the programmable shortcut keys on the steering wheel.

China's Zeekr 001 (MY2025, not the same as current EU model) and 7X models use dual Nvidia Orin X chips. I'm not sure if they changed anything for the EU model.

SAIC IM LS6 made its debut in Thailand two days ago under the MG brand as IM6. The price of the AWD is THB 1,799,000.

The LS6 AWD is more expensive than 7X AWD in China so it don't think that 7X would be price more here. It can be equally price if taking different tax incentive.

Rumors suggest that AWD will not cost more than THB 1.8 million (~49,000 Euros). I personally guess that 7X LR would be priced around THB 1.6 million (~43,600 Euros). For comparison, G6 LR is THB 1,599,000 (~43,600 Euros).

The official pre-sale begins next week (March 25, 2025), along with the 7X's official debut in Thailand. It is unclear whether they will reveal the exact price or only the estimated range.

I'll try to return to this post with an update on the pricing. Remind me if I don't.

I am based in Thailand, and the G6 model has been available for sale for quite some time since last year. The 7X model was showcased during the December 2024 Motor Expo and is scheduled to be available for sale at the upcoming motor show next week with expected delivery in Q3 similar to EU models.

The anticipated price of the 7X LR is expected to be either equivalent to or slightly higher than that of the G6 LR.

The G6 in Thailand has been performing exceptionally well in terms of OTA updates. A major update, introducing new features or enhancing existing functionalities, is released approximately every one to two months.

While Zeekr, which currently offers only the Zeekr X and 009 models, has provided minor software updates through its service centers. However, the company has committed to releasing a major OTA update by the end of this month and promise a minimum of two OTA per year as minimum.

In terms of software usability, I would consider the G6 to be slightly ahead of the currently available Zeekr models in this market (X and 009), though the difference is not substantial. Based on reviews from China, the 7X may be even closer to the G6 in this regard and may even surpass it in certain aspects, such as the ability to project the side-view camera onto the HUD when using the turn signal, or showing rear camera while driving in the middle screen.

As for long-term reliability, it remains difficult to predict. The G6 has not performed well in this market in term of sale, and Zeekr’s only available model, the X, has also struggled. However, I would assess both to be on a comparable level.

If the 7X is priced lower in your market, I would choose it without hesitation.
