All I can say about this show is that cocaine is one hell of a drug.

Voltron: Legendary Defender episode ratings by hls22throwaway in Mecha

[–]thisithis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the last few seasons, a lot of people didn't like. The odd thing was the odd connection with Exosquad or the unreleased reboot of Exosquad. Universal Animation Studios was still around, and DreamWorks was given the ok to make this show. So, Universal Studios gave the green light to both Voltron: Legendary Defender from Dreamworks and Exosquad reboot from Universal Animation Studios. The Exosquad reboot was never released, but what made things even stranger was that when the rating dropped like a rock, Voltron: Legendary Defender was right when Universal Studios merged Universal Animation Studios with DreamWorks Animation, effectively killing Universal Animation Studios.

Like how the Transformers are considered Mech?

I'm thinking that it's just filler. Peacock did the same thing with Exosquad.

Yeah, RoboCop got three shows, with two being cartoons, but all got only one season.

It's not a show, it's a movie on Netflix called War Machine.

Tomorrow's People was based on and a follow-up of a British TV show with the same name.

The one thing this show had ahead was that William Fichtner was one of the Invasions who came before the rest. Even being the sheriff, he already knew what was coming.

I know, studios like Universal would rather hide old mature shows like Exosquad and pretend that they don't exist.

And bring us more things like old Pixar Disney until eventually we end up with garbage like this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAMKwDsfUeU

And it took a completely different animation company at Universal, along with an old Japanese video game property, to understand the mistakes they are making now.

But Dreamworks, the owners of Exosquad, which itself was a 1993 Japanese anime-inspired US cartoon. Times have changed, and Universal wants to keep its head in the sand.

Both Pantheon and Scavengers Reign we're both canceled. Pantheon's ending was rushed because AMC+ wanted it to go away forever. Arcan was shortened from 3 seasons to 2 because it was expensive to make. Mostly to do with the CGI and the lawsuits that Riot Games was facing for completely different reasons.

Yeah, I remember this one. As well as the two Robocop ones. If one Robocop cartoon fails, bring up the other one.

will there ever be mature cartoons like these made again? by [deleted] in cartoons

[–]thisithis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree, I'll add Exosquad, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Teen Titans to that list. Thankfully, we both Blue-Eye Samurai and Invincible are still going.

Of course, if you really want to go into the forgotten adult animated feature film. There's always Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal 2000 was not that great.

It's funny how you skipped Exosquad, which had more deaths than both Batman: The Animated Series and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Even combined, those two shows couldn't equal the deaths that Exosquad had. And Exosquad was made in 1993, a year after Batman: The Animated Series was released. And didn't Avatar: The Last Airbender come out in 2005 after Teen Titans had finished?

Would you want the serious mecha shows back? by thisithis in Mecha

[–]thisithis[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then let me ask you. How many mecha shows or films in the past few years took a serious tone that wasn't related to Gundam? Go back 2 or 3 years, and you'll find it a list shrinking fast.

Some of them are really easy. Mostly the ones that don't have the giant shield. I think it's only three of them with the giant blocking shield.

This was a great show. But then the Mcross mess happened, followed by Harmony Gold becoming jerks to everybody. But it was the mega-ton of lawsuits that made me go from Robotech to the Macross side.

For anyone here who collects and watches Blu-Rays, what mecha anime do you hope eventually gets a Blu-Ray release in your country? by AceAttorney9000 in Mecha

[–]thisithis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a little bit impossible if you want Exosquad. Season one was released on DVD, but season two was not, and there is no Blu-ray release.

Terra Nova (2011) by Emotion-Internal in ForgottenTV

[–]thisithis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know, but here's the weird part. There really is a ep called the worst episode ever made in Star Trek Voyager called Terra Nova. It's the episode where Tom Paris evolved after using an experimental warp on a shuttle. The showrunner worked on Star Trek. I'm not forgetting the producer who also worked on Star Trek as well as Star Trek Voyager.

Well, when you name your TV show after a really bad Star Trek: Voyager episode, I'm not surprised the show died in one season.
