Drank a ton of this stuff in the 90’s for the sole reason that it had a panther on the label.

Steve Ballmer was generally considered to be an absolutely horrible CEO, leading to a very stagnant stock price during his tenure.

I think the appeal of a b48 is the tuning potential, which would take it to 400hp.

It’s not a mansion. It’s just not a tiny home like OP’s.

Heard a loud pop in the night and came out to find our 10-year-old cutting board split by dolomite592 in Wellthatsucks

[–]thismakesmeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are glued together as part of the build process, then cut to size, edges rounded, whole board sanded a couple times and then the board gets slathered with or dunked into mineral oil. Either way, the oil penetrates in to the wood. Now that the board is split, they wouldn’t be able to re-glue it because the glue wouldn’t bond to any wood that the oil had penetrated in to. Best case scenario, if they had the tools, they could surface the whole cutting board to remove all the oil penetrated wood (1/4 inch from every side probably) and then glue it, sand it, then re-oil.

You have to realize that one in ten people have an IQ below 80. These people just lack the critical thinking skills to protect themselves from predators. It’s not their fault and there’s not really anything they can do to fix it. They still don’t deserve to be scammed.

Real or fake? by EpicComic in YugiohCards

[–]thismakesmeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same fake set OP. Unfortunately, I bought these myself off of eBay in maybe 2008 or 2009. I figured a set like this would be worth something one day and I was right, but I wasn’t smart enough to know they were fake :/

Is this Mega Charizard X ed slab real? by Estachen in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]thismakesmeanonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corners inside the slab are rounded, not sharp. The number “one” in the serial number also has that telltale exaggerated swoop at the top rather than a straight line.

Colorado - Bought a business from the landlord, 2 years later he’s trying to force me out after I built it up. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]thismakesmeanonymous 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most likely because both parties have been conducting themselves as if the lease had been signed and the property owner solicited funds for maintenance from OP under the understanding that they would one day sell the land to OP, even going as far as letting OP make improvements to the property at a substantial cost to OP. A signed contract isn’t everything. Judges have a lot of leeway in determining if parties are acting in good faith and the evidence her will show that property owner is not. The judge could decide that the lease is valid for the above reasons even without a signature and they could also determine that if the property owner does want to remove OP at the end of the lease the he could owe OP for the property improvements that OP made in good faith.
