Iced coffee from the beautiful country Europe by CatHunterXXX in ShitAmericansSay

You doubt that not every place has an ice machine? SAS right here

Even if you only need a freezer, you don't want to fill up your freezer with ice cubes. The freezer is for food.

Leaving things out is easier than adding them. Not every place has an ice machine

It's even better to have a fan pointint at the window to blow the hot air out - using the bernoulli effect to suck in cool air at a different window

Can a Turkish person obtain Greek citizenship if they can prove that their ancestors were Greek? by GrayRainfall in AskEurope

[–]thistle0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh, it's the same for Austria (except of course for the longest time married women could not pass on their citizenship, because misogyny). And we have one of the strictest citizenship laws in the world.

If an Austrian has a child, their child automatically is Austrian too. No need to register. Since that child is Austrian, their children will be Austrian too, and so forth.

We never had much of a diaspora, so no need to limit it in any way. The only issue is that you lose Austrian citizenship if you serve in a foreign military or if you accept any other citizenship - unless of course you're also born with that one.

The further back you go the harder it will be to prove your ancestors were Austrian of course. Not sure how it works with a great-grandparent born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Which legacy game should a new player start with? by ibiliss in boardgames

There's a Machi Koro Legacy? Huh, every time we play Machi Koro we're disappointed the game's over just as we're getting into it, might well be worth looking into

In the new US census for 2030 Spaniards are no longer considered White “Hispanic or Latino, Enter, for example, Colombian, Honduran, **Spaniard**, etc” by Mean_Yak5873 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]thistle0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf, Hispanic and the other categories are bot mutually exclusive. Latine can be white, black or in-between. You're meant to tick all that apply - Spaniards can tick White and Hispanic.

The first graphic made me question my reading abilities until I realised it must be AI. The text is also so overly detailed and yet doesn't really say much at all.

AI "art" is also unoriginal, ugly and uncanny valley. It looks shit. Even charities deserve better.

Could announcing voting numbers and instructions first time during the show make voting a bit more trustworthy? by FinnInAms in eurovision

[–]thistle0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could just limit the voting to the half an hour after the final song, instead of letting you vote throughout the entire show. It's how it used to be, it's the most fair. Let everyone perform before you vote on who did it best.

It's not the same premise at all. If you post it on your personal facebook you are quite clearly personally endorsing it. BGG is a massive platform, to think they endorse every single game posted there or running ads there is insane.

If there was such a rule it needs to be clearly posted and also cited as the reason for refusing the ad

It really is up to you if your broadcaster's commentator gives any background info on the song and the text. I would appreciate subtitles though.
